A Reddit user, who goes by u/Constraints-First-67, shared a post on Tuesday, July 28, 2026, recalling one bride who had a different mindset about her big day. The woman went around interrupting guests as they talked to one another, only to make one unexpected and appalling request.

The man mentioned that he was a plus-one to his girlfriend for the wedding of one of her friends. He didn’t know people there, but admired the ceremony and cocktail hour. Toward the end, when dinner was served, guests eventually dispersed into their own groups and started interacting. The bride made her way to different people, and at first, he assumed she was just being friendly, attentive, and mingling with everyone. To his surprise, he was proven wrong. The woman came to a duo discussing sports and said, “No sports tonight, let's keep the conversation about the wedding.” Initially, it seemed like the bride didn’t like sports or was just trying to be funny. While the men laughed at it, she continued to harass other guests.
A few minutes later, she overheard an older couple talking about their cruise, and said, “You'll have plenty of time to talk about holidays later; today is about us." Whether someone spoke about work, their family, or anything else, the topic didn’t matter; they had to talk about the wedding. The boyfriend only watched silently, but when the woman approached his partner, he lost it. “My girlfriend started catching up with a cousin she hadn't seen in years, and she came over and suggested they share their favorite memory of the couple instead,” he recalled. The man was livid, wondering why someone would want so much attention.
To make things worse, this was toward the end of the reception, so there was no reason for her to feel the limelight was being stolen. She just wanted all eyes on her all night. When he asked his partner if he was just imagining things, she revealed that the bride had done the same thing for her engagement party before. “I am honestly left questioning how my girlfriend is even friends with this lady?” he asked. According to The Knot, a survey of over 1,000 respondents revealed that there are some common things that invitees dislike. These include long speeches, delayed food, lack of quiet spaces, and even a lack of entertainment and activities to keep wedding guests busy.
