Bride stopped ‘father-daughter’ dance at wedding and invited her sisters to join — what followed moved her dad to tears

A person's wedding might be a very big moment for their parents as well. So when a dad's fourth and last daughter was getting married, their father-daughter dance was a very emotional moment for him. It was a bittersweet moment to have the dance with his daughter. But the man, Greg Wickles, was happy with just a simple dance. Nonetheless, his daughter, Marissa Nielsen, had planned something special for him along with her sisters, according to her TikTok page, @marissnielsen. The clip received 792,800 views.

As the video began, Marissa was dancing with her dad while the wedding party watched them. Greg also had a big smile on his face as he danced with his daughter. He was already happy and had no idea that his daughter had planned something special for him. As the dance went on, all of Marissa's sisters gathered on the dance floor as well. Two of their kids also joined as the seven of them formed a circle in the middle of the dance floor and danced together. All of them had gotten really emotional as the song went on. Greg gave all his daughters a kiss on the cheek as a thank you for the heartwarming surprise.
@marissnielsen My dad was so emotional having one last father-daughter dance with all of his girls. I don’t think there was a dry eye in the room 🥹🤍 Best surprise we pulled off for him #daddydaughter #dadsoftiktok #weddingday #fyp #2025bride ♬ original sound - marissa
"A moment my dad will never forget; as the last of his four daughters to get married, I decided to surprise him with one last dance altogether," the text overlay of the video read. The caption revealed, "My dad was so emotional having one last father-daughter dance with all of his girls. I don't think there was a dry eye in the room. Best surprise we pulled off for him." Marissa told PEOPLE, "You could tell it was an emotional moment. Just a small gesture to show my dad how much we all love and appreciate him for raising us four girls and always being there for us." She added, "My parents gave us the best childhood and gave me my first three best friends since birth. It only felt right to include them since this was the last of the four weddings my parents helped put together."
People appreciated the beautiful moment in the comments section of the video. @samanthapaigebowen99 wrote, "We did something very similar. I was the last child of three to get married. We had a last dance as the original five. Not a dry eye in the room. One of my favorite moments was captured that day." @buchert.family commented, "My cousin was only able to afford a small wedding at the park, so she didn’t have a father-daughter dance. I knew how upset she was about it, so at my wedding, I let her and her dad have their dance."

@lala_jo920 remarked, "This is beautiful. Makes me so excited for my father-daughter dance. I just got engaged on July 4th. I’m already searching for songs and thinking of trying to pick a special one to do for my mom, too. We've lost a lot of family members the last few years and I think it'd mean a lot to them both to do a special song for each parent." @jhart346 shared, "What a very special moment! I feel bad for my dad because he will never get that moment. I have two brothers and I'm his only daughter and I'm 46 and will probably never get married, so he will never get to experience this moment." In another video, the bride shared a sneak peek from her wedding ceremony.
