Customer cut the restaurant line and demanded staff show food to her son — then the waitress looked in the stroller and froze
Restaurant staff often have to deal with customers who can, unfortunately, make busy shifts even more stressful. Recalling one such incident, a restaurant employee who goes by @xo_pennypink shared a chaotic experience from the holiday season. She was serving customers when a mother entered the restaurant with a stroller and cut in line. She then demanded that the staff member show every food item to her son, but the moment the employee looked inside the stroller, she was left shocked. Sharing the story on TikTok on February 3, 2026, the user revealed that the woman ended up becoming the worst customer of her 10-year career.
The waitress was working a busy shift during the holiday season when she noticed a woman pushing a stroller while cutting the restaurant line. She demanded that the waitress show her son the available food items because he could not see the selection. The TikTok user assumed the kid may have had special needs, so she carried the food around the counter. As soon as the woman turned the stroller, she was shocked by what she saw inside. There was a newborn baby who appeared to be only a few days old.
The TikTok user was stunned to see the mother expecting her newborn child to choose items. "Ma'am, your child doesn't have fingerprints yet. Furthermore, are you feeding your newborn baby fast food?" she quipped. When the mother asked if her order would be taken, the waitress told her to stand in line and wait for her turn. The restaurant staff later complained that the woman did not let her do her job in peace for the rest of the shift.
She noted that the customer constantly demanded to know what was being added to the food, even when it wasn't her order. She was also annoyed that the woman was suspicious about the ingredients added to the drinks. Recalling the worst encounter, the TikTok user said, "She became a regular for a while, but that is hands-down the worst customer interaction I have ever had the pleasure of enduring in my life."
The waitress's video left many internet users in stitches, with people sharing their thoughts on the situation. Several raised concerns about the mother feeding fast food to an infant. @MichellePiffnerWhiteGold wrote, "Lowkey I'd be thinking about calling CPS or something because feeding your days-old baby any type of fast food feels vaguely neglectful."
@Cate noted, "She knew what she was doing. She thought if you thought the food was for a kid, you'd help her, and she wouldn't have to wait." @Vivian recounted, "One that will forever stay with me is when a customer tossed his credit card into the air at me and, when I didn't catch it, said, 'Don't worry, we'll train you,' like I'm a circus animal."
