Customer requested spicier butter chicken — the restaurant receipt turned it into a ‘big problem’ and cracked up the internet
Taste is subjective, so it’s common for people to request custom dishes when ordering at restaurants. But what happens when a restaurant bends the rules and mocks a customer's order? A Reddit user, u/Rose_Army_, shared a similar experience in a post on March 29, 2026. Confident in their ability to eat extremely spicy food, they asked for their dish to be made extra spicy, but the receipt that came with the dish was something they probably didn't expect and couldn't resist sharing with the online community.
Requested spicier Delhi butter chicken and the receipt specified the request as “make big problem tomorrow”.

The post description stated that they had requested "spicier Delhi butter chicken." While their request was likely met, the restaurant decided to offer a witty warning hinting at the fiery trouble ahead. The post featured a photo of a receipt listing two dishes. The first dish was Cobb Salad Shrimp, while the second was New Delhi Butter Chicken, which came with a warning. The restaurant not only stated that it was spicy, but also went a step further, writing, “Make Big Problem Tomorrow.”
The message seemed to reference the well-known effects spicy food can have on the digestive system. According to a report in The Gut Health Doctor, the chemical compound in chili peppers called capsaicin is responsible for their pungency. This same compound activates pain receptors found in certain parts of the body, including the mouth and back passage. This happens because some capsaicin passes through the digestive tract undigested and, upon exiting the body, activates pain receptors.
While this reaction sounds serious, and to some extent it is, people often joke about it when something extra spicy is on the table. What made it even funnier here was the restaurant itself stepping in to warn the customer about the consequences. The post has already racked up nearly 7,000 upvotes and over 100 comments. People seemed to largely agree with the restaurant's warning.
The responses below were humorous, each expressing their own perspective. u/MyDogsNameIsBadger joked, “It’s my biggest hurdle to spicy foods. My mouth can handle it butt…” It’s a common joke that people need to gather the courage before heading to the toilet the day after eating spicy food. Another user offered a different perspective. “Some people don’t respond to capsaicin the same way, as it isn’t actually burning at all and merely your nerves being tricked into thinking you’re being burned,” noted u/Igotdaruns.
However, for some people, the ability to tolerate spicy food also becomes a matter of showing off and bragging. A user u/mwmani added, “I kind of love when people underestimate my tolerance for spice. It makes me feel like a superhero.” Whether the user handled it like a superhero or the restaurant’s warning proved true remains known only to the customer.
