Kids do not hold back from being honest. Take this kid, for instance. When Reddit user Jordan (u/ciniseris) was checking his 7-year-old daughter's math homework, he found something that left him puzzled and chuckling at the same time. His little daughter was assigned math homework and enjoys doing addition. However, when asked a math problem, she left a note under the question that prompted him to call his wife. Reported by Newsweek on February 16, 2026, the dad was amused by his daughter's sassy response.

New Jersey resident Jordan was going through his 7-year-old daughter's math assignment when he came across a note she had written below one of the questions. Speaking to Newsweek, Jordan revealed that up until recently, his daughter enjoyed solving math problems, especially since they mostly dealt with addition. Her parents, who quizzed her regularly on addition unit, noticed that she was pretty confident about the concept. However, after being introduced to the concept of subtraction at school, she has been finding it challenging. "[She] was struggling to get the concept of subtraction and was getting frustrated that it wasn't coming as easily," the father revealed. In the post shared by the dad, the math assignment had a subtraction question which went, "Explain what can happen if you line up the digits incorrectly when you rewrite addition problems."

However, the kid had a hilarious note for the teacher. She wrote, "I never get an addition problam rong, but I suck at substrakshin!" The dad who read her note burst into laughter, and his immediate reaction was to call his wife. "I called my wife over, and I just said, 'Read what your daughter wrote for question number 10.' She also immediately lost it and then took a screenshot of her homework and sent it to my family's group chat," Jordan said. The father of the little girl also noticed his daughter grinning as she saw everyone around her floored by her sassy response. He further revealed that his family had an equally hilarious reaction to her funny note, describing her as "little Shakespeare." Jordan calls his daughter a sarcastic person who can be sassy at all times. After his Reddit post gained massive traction online, many users shared their funny reactions to her note.

It's obviously easier and faster but it doesn't foster as much understanding of place value." u/Ulfbass wrote, "I mean, the question is unfairly vague for a 7-year-old. One of those 'highlight the early prodigy' attempts that doesn't hit very well on the positive targets and feels pretty bad for the others."
