For parents, every little milestone their child completes matters. Whether it’s their first word, their first hug or even their first broken tooth, parents cherish every moment as one to celebrate. It is only a way of expressing their love for their kids. A woman named Miranda McKeon (@mirandamckeon) was stunned after her dad invited her out to ice cream one random day. She shared a video of her dad insisting they go to Trader Joe’s only and when she realized he was persistent to celebrate something special, she broke down in tears. People are overwhelmed by the gesture.

The woman shared a “POV” and explained that her dad was insisting the duo go to Trader Joe’s to get ice cream. McKeon was confused as it was a random request at 9 pm. She suggested several other options where her dad could get better assortments of ice cream like ice cream parlors or dessert places. But the dad was determined to go to the specific store only and refused to go elsewhere. “He was like, ‘No, no, we need to go to Trader Joe’s only,’” she recalled. Filming herself with her dad at the store, McKeon was surprised to see her dad walk straight to the flower section.

McKeon spotted the bouquets and her dad finally revealed the surprise. He said to her, “I thought we should pick some out together to celebrate tomorrow.” The woman revealed that the following day marked 3 years of her being cancer-free and her dad remembered and wanted to do something special. “I sobbed, we hugged and he told me how proud he was of me,” she remarked. The dad got his little girl 5 little bouquets of flowers and she was moved by the gesture. “I was so shocked that he knew and cried all the way through TJ’s. I’m so grateful for him,” she said. The video captured the dad looking carefully and picking different types of flowers from the buckets to make bouquets.

Meanwhile, McKeon stood at the side, completely emotional and speechless at her father’s act. By the time they reached the checkout counter, she was rightly in tears like the little excited girl she once was. “I’m still crying watching this back,” she wrote in the caption. People congratulated the woman for being cancer-free for three years and making it out resiliently. However, many added that she’d won at life by getting such a thoughtful and loving father to celebrate her. @lorienrain said, “And ladies, this is why the husbands we pick are so important. Our choice determines the type of fathers our daughters get.”

@bridge_truth added, “Of course, he knows the day his baby got cancer-free. It’s imprinted in his heart next to your birthdate.” @wearebackkkkk remarked, “Love this! I celebrated 26 years of being cancer-free. Every year, I get a slice of cheesecake to celebrate. It’s worth celebrating and I’m so glad you were seen and loved on this day.” @maddiesennelson added, “This is the sweetest thing I’ve ever seen.” @aye.lowe remarked, “He’s so thankful you’re still here and well.”
