Dwayne Johnson's video call with a 'brave' young fan a week before he died is everything inspiring

Last wishes hold much weight in the life of a dying person. Knowing it could be the last request they make, it could be anything they want that will be remembered. To keep its significance, people often wish for things that matter to them the most. Similarly, a little boy named Kane was stuck in a hospital bed and was nearing the final days of his life, per PEOPLE. Being unable to speak and having pipes through his nose, the boy wished one thing—to meet “The Rock,” Dwayne Johnson. The actor shared the call he made to the boy before his passing through the efforts of the “Make-A-Wish” organization. Each emotion holds pricelessness.

“My heart always skips a beat whenever I get the call from my friends at Make-A-Wish, letting me know we have a ‘Rush Wish’ that needs to happen right away,” Johnson said. He revealed in his video that he met Kane and his family on March 11 and was honored to grant his wish by interacting with him. Speaking to him on the call, Johnson said, “Hey buddy! How are you?” Though Kane couldn’t speak, he looked and listened as best as he could as his wish came true. Kane was surrounded by his parents, Charlie and Christine, and his twin brother, Dennis, who added to the moment with their uplifting conversations and encouragement.

The “Moana” actor got to know Kane, who expressed joy with the sweetest smile despite being in a hospital bed. The actor noticed Kane’s love for the character “Maui,” played by Johnson himself in the movie “Moana.” He spotted “Maui’s Hook,” a famous accessory that defines the character and amped the boy up for his love for it all. The family added to the interaction by flaunting the “Moana” toys, bracelets and other accessories he had, all because of his deep love for the movie and its actors. Johnson stayed on call, impressed with the loyalty of the little fan.
Towards the end of the call, the actor took a picture with the family and left a heartfelt message for Kane. “I just want to tell you I’m so happy to finally meet you. You inspire everyone around you, including me too. I can see why you’re so incredible and amazing.” The call was not done just yet. Upon Dennis’ request, which undoubtedly would have been Kane’s too, the actor even sang, “You’re Welcome,” a popular song led by his character in “Moana.” Kane’s little smile could be seen, gleaming through with all the strength he had.

The video ended with the song “Somewhere Over The Rainbow,” along with glimpses of Kane when he was in good health. Kane passed away on March 18, a week after the interaction. The actor left a poignant message in his caption. He commended Kane's bravery in fighting for life as best as he could. “Despite not being able to speak when we met, I felt this little boy’s smile and felt this little boy’s mana (energy). His mana was beautiful. His mana was strong,” he wrote in his post. He shared his heartfelt condolences with the family and ended his caption with a quote from Kane’s mom. It read, “He brought so much light to everyone who met him, so I want to continue to share that light.”
