A little thought and effort can be life-changing for someone. A woman put in just that for an elderly DoorDash driver who arrived at her doorstep with her order. She felt that nobody should be working at his age and wanted to do something for the man. The woman, Ireland Dannehold, who goes by @irelanddannehold on TikTok, shared the doorbell cam footage of the man delivering food and hoped someone could help them get in touch. As the video continued to receive traction, Dannehold ended up starting a GoFundMe for the man.

"If anyone can help me find Larry in Jacksonville, please help. No one should have to work at this age," the text overlay read. She shared a video where the man waited for quite some time with a parcel in his hand and greeted the person with a big smile as he delivered the package and went away. The man, Larry Bailey, had brought food for Dannehold from Panera when the incident happened, per News4JAX, The Local Station. "I have done a lot of things in my life," Bailey began. He wasn't expecting a lot that day as he went in to deliver the package as he would on a normal day. Dannehold noticed that the man had a positive attitude even though he was wearing a knee brace and had to walk up three flights of steps.

Dannehold gave him an extra tip, but wanted to do something more for the man. She hoped that people on the internet would want to help him, too and started a GoFundMe. Eventually, the woman ended up raising $22,000 for Bailey, per the outlet. "It's such a surreal experience. I totally didn't expect anything like this to happen," Dannehold remarked.

Although the woman helped him a lot in an unexpected way, the man shared that he actually enjoys his job at DoorDash and taking care of his own expenses. The man hoped to save the money so he could use it when he would no longer be able to work. "I'll have to think about it. I won't waste it," Bailey said about the money.

"It's such a good feeling, regardless of whether he needed it or not," Dannehold pointed out. "Just knowing that he knows that the community loves and appreciates him is all I needed to know." Many people shared their thoughts on what Dannehold was doing in the comments section of the TikTok video. @camilekoi wrote, "OMG! This is my aunt's dad! He’s the sweetest man and he does it cause he wants to, I promise y'all he’s happy." @row_br commented, "WAIT! He helped me carry some bags to my car after he did a food delivery a few weekends ago. He was so kind."

@andytheagent remarked, "I worked at the Jersey Mikes in Nocatee, he was my favorite Delivery Driver. We got to talk a few times and he was always so nice! I appreciate you, Larry." @kimnewton06 shared, "Everyone, let's start a GoFundMe page for Larry Jacksonville so he can be home and travel and enjoy his retirement." @angelica.fern expressed, "The patience, the knee brace has me sobbing. May god bless that man."
