In a Threads post, Shaw explained how an entitled passenger sitting in the wrong seat even questioned whether she truly wanted the seat she had booked, and the woman’s next remarks only left her more annoyed during boarding. According to Shaw, she calmly explained that the other passenger’s ticket showed seat 27C, which was the aisle seat in the same row. Shaw reminded her that 27A belonged to her and expected the confusion to end quickly without creating further trouble. Instead, the woman asked, “Do you really want your seat?” and appeared irritated when Shaw answered yes without hesitation. In the middle of the exchange, the passenger called the situation “ridiculous,” which only made the moment more awkward for travelers waiting behind them.
Shaw later recalled the incident online, writing, “Ma'am, you’re ridiculous! Give me my window seat!” Other passengers standing nearby reportedly apologized to Shaw despite not knowing either person involved in the disagreement. Their reactions suggested the situation had become uncomfortable for several people waiting to settle into their seats before departure. Situations like this often become stressful because one person refusing to cooperate can delay everyone else around them for no clear reason. Shaw remained firm about keeping the seat she had selected and paid for before boarding, highlighting the importance of calmly standing one’s ground during such encounters.

In another incident, a man shared how a packed flight turned stressful after a mother with a child demanded his window seat during boarding. The mother first asked politely, but the situation changed when the passenger refused to move from the seat assigned on his ticket. Trying to avoid trouble, he explained that he was uncomfortable sitting away from the window. The woman, however, became upset and replied, “That’s a lie! The claustrophobia you have is fake.”
