Tired folks with busy schedules hardly get time to fulfill their 8 hours of sleep quota which is essential for our wellbeing. While most of us wonder if there is a quicker way to fall asleep and wake up feeling rejuvenated, Dr. Joe Whittington, who goes by @drjoe_md on TikTok, uploaded a video with an ingenious solution to the problem. He introduced a sleep technique that Navy SEALs use to get some quick shut-eye. Whittington reacted to another creator's video who appeared while complaining that he is really tired and would literally give anything to get 8-hours of sleep.

"Okay, so you are tired but you only have 10 minutes," Whittington appeared to speak. "I'm gonna show you the Navy SEAL-inspired power napping technique that many of our elite forces swear by. First, you're gonna find the edge of a bed or a couch like this and put yourself in this position." Whittington settled to demonstrate the way one can get the best results. He advised people to find an elevated surface and then rest one's legs at a ninety-degree angle. He also folded his hands over his chest.

"Laying in this position for 10 minutes, with your legs elevated like this, is gonna accomplish two things. First, it's gonna reduce swelling in your legs as well as return blood flow to your core," Whittington instructed. Using the particular method will also trigger relaxation. "Second, by limiting the time to 10 minutes, you're gonna wake up during the light phase of sleep and therefore wake up feeling refreshed. Give it a try. Let me know what you think," Whittington concluded.

"This position promotes blood flow back to your core, reducing swelling in your legs and triggering relaxation. Studies show that short naps improve alertness and mood without the grogginess of deeper sleep. This trick is ideal for a fast reset when you’re low on time, helping you feel refreshed and ready to tackle the rest of your day," he added in the caption of his video. According to Business Insider, retired Navy SEAL, Jocko Willink, was the first to popularize the nap trick. Meanwhile, the people in the comment section of Whittington's video shared their thoughts on the power napping technique and if they obtained any benefit from it.

@pnwbethany wondered, "I'd like to know how to fall asleep once I close my eyes. It's a minimum of 30-60 min no matter how exhausted I am. Seriously, how do people just sleep?" @hannahlora50 shared, "When my back is out I do this for 15 minutes 2-3 times a day and usually by day two I am back to 100%. And apparently rested!" @indy51167 mentioned, "That’s crazy. I didn’t know this. I don’t sleep much but when I’m having focal seizures. I found lying like this helps. When I’m having muscle spasms in my back I put my bottom against a wall." @getoffmylawn550 added, "It would take me away longer than 10 minutes just to get to sleep and knowing I only have 10 minutes to sleep would guarantee no sleep."
