Elderly friends spotted Google Street View car and started 'clowning around' on the road — instant internet 'fame' followed

Living life to the fullest is about those random moments that turn into unexpectedly memorable ones. An elderly duo, Liza Aldridge and Tina Sheppard, decided to make the most of a moment like this and created a timeless masterpiece, per Newsweek. The 56 and 63-year-olds, respectively, were catching up together when they spotted a Google Street View Car pass by them. They decided to bring out the goofy in them and ended up pulling one of the most unexpected results that has the internet in awe.

Google has a intriguing concept of driving around in Street View cars and capturing a 360-degree glimpse of various areas. The idea is to help with navigation and give people a fairly accurate idea of what to expect around a particular place. Many people have found glimpses of themselves, their homes or even their vehicles by coincidentally appearing on the same street while the car was passing. For Aldridge and Sheppard, too, this became a reality but in the most hysterically adorable way. "We were walking along Alma Road when it passed us the first time,” the 54-year-old recalled.

However, at the time, they didn’t try anything and just went about their way. "We jokingly said that we'd missed our opportunity to do something crazy," Aldridge remarked. To their surprise, the friends found the car approaching them a second time when they turned onto the neighboring street, 6 Waterloo Road, Winton, Bournemouth. This time, the duo thought they should make their harmless prank a reality and do something worthwhile while the car passed. So when it did, they both put up a banter, play-fighting each other on the streets. They were really just having fun and didn’t think much of it.

Sharing in a post on Facebook, the woman wrote, “We turned to each other and started clowning around before falling about laughing.” A few weeks later, Aldridge looked up Google Maps and was in disbelief at what she saw. When she entered the name of the street they were on, she was stunned to find herself and Sheppard in a glimpse, appearing to have a solid fight on the road. Though their faces were blurry, both the elderly women were seen holding each other fiercely, in movement, as if they were really in a tiff. Getting delighted and excited by the fact that they were now a public sight, she captioned the post, “Welcome to my 15 minutes of fame.”

With over 85,000 reactions, people were baffled and in awe of the duo’s youthful goofiness and energetic spirit. The duo received many comments of praise, humor and applause, truly commending the women for a mindset like no other. Katie Crittenden said, “This is outstanding work.” Yhtak Yelir added, “Hysterical! I had to go on Google Maps and find out!! Brilliant.” Louise James commented, “I am very proud of your work! Fellow Brits unite in silliness. I propose a round of water fights next!” Miranda Fagandini remarked, “What a fantastic story, well done, you two!”
