Groom's harsh remark after bride stumbles drives her to divorce him within 3 minutes of their wedding
On a special and sacred occasion like marriage, a couple thoughtfully intends to spend the rest of their lives together. This moment of forever is a dream and wish that partners work towards from the day they pledge to be each other’s in marriage. Unfortunately, a bride and groom marked the shortest marriage in the history of Kuwait after divorcing within 3 minutes of their marriage, per q8 News. From celebrating their special day with symbolic and heartfelt moments, the day quickly turned into a baffling and unbelievable occasion, after the groom made an unruly comment to his newlywed bride.
Sharing in depth about the tragic yet empowering story, the bride is reported to have stumbled and tripped while the newly married couple was making their exit after signing their marriage contract. Instead of being understanding or empathetic, or even just neutral, the groom blurted a harsh comment instead. Instead of helping his wife, the man called her “stupid” for tripping, per Indy100. The bride wasn’t about to take the disrespect and chose to end things on the spot.
Before they could even leave the premises, the bride went back and immediately requested an annulment. Upon her insistence, the divorce was ultimately granted and within 3 minutes, the marriage was annulled. Words truly have power and the outcome led to one of the shortest marriages in history. One cannot help but fear this horrifying experience. A lot can go wrong on important occasions like one’s wedding day. However, unusual and unexpected mishaps can have memorable and precious outcomes too! In one such instance, the community stepped up wholesomely for a couple whose wedding venue catastrophically burned down hours before their big day.
The owner of the venue “The Herb Lyceum,” Will Gilson, revealed the tragic news of his space burned down to ashes just hours before the couple’s reception could begin. Shattered at seeing his family business burnt, Gilson’s focus was torn between getting the couple space in due time and taking in the unfortunate news. “I’m standing there with the whole team that operates the space and we’re watching this fire burn and our first thoughts are, ‘How do we make sure that somebody’s wedding isn’t ruined because of this?'” Gilson recalled, per Bored Panda. To their luck, the neighboring “Groton Inn,” offered their space to quickly set up and get a space ready for the couple. With one person rekindling the fire of hope, several others stepped in to change a terrible event into something perfect.
After the venue was figured out, communities shared all the resources they could right from flowers, cutlery, decorations and everything. Many even offered their time and helping hands to set up the place just in time for the reception. Leaving finances and other specifics out of the question for the time being, the entire community’s focus was on giving the bride and groom the celebration they deserved. “The whole town banded together at the last minute to ensure that the wedding still could take place as scheduled,” a resident shared. People even offered to take care of other scheduled occasions so Gilson and his family wouldn’t suffer loss and have all the help they needed. “While nothing can replace the century-old beams and wood that were used in the renovation, the spirit of the building remains. This staple of the community must rise from the ashes,” he added.
