He fat-shamed a woman after she rejected him in public — then a bystander’s response made him panic and hide
Public harassment in crowded places often grows worse when no one steps in. A woman recently shared a troubling experience from a city center where she witnessed a man behaving aggressively toward another woman. She posted the incident in a TikTok video on May 16, 2026, under the handle @katiclyzmyt, describing how it unfolded. She explained that a very tall man approached a woman to get her number, but when she did not respond, his behavior quickly became hostile, and he started fat-shaming her. But what followed changed the situation as the user stepped in and called out the man’s behavior.
The man reportedly insulted the woman after being rejected, calling her “fat,” “ugly,” and a “fat pig” in a loud and disrespectful manner. Hearing this, the TikTok user stepped in and confronted him directly, refusing to stay silent even though he looked intimidating and angry. She immediately called out his behavior in front of others and shouted, “You are disgusting." The man then started threatening her, but she stood firm and decided she would not let the situation pass. She chose to contact the police immediately, saying, “I’m reporting you,” while noting that harassment like this is against the law and should not be ignored in public spaces.
Acts of intervention in public spaces often highlight how silence can allow harmful behavior to continue unchecked. When she called the police, she explained that the man had been loitering and harassing a stranger. Officers arrived shortly after and searched the area in their vehicle, but the man managed to hide and avoid being caught at that moment. She later realized he had assistance from people nearby who helped him stay out of sight until the police left the scene.
The next day, she followed up with the police again, demanding a crime reference number and expressing concern that officers had not fully engaged with the situation during the search. She said she would continue calling until the case was properly recorded. She also emphasized how many people simply walked past without intervening, which she believes allowed the man to act more boldly. She urged viewers to step in or call authorities when witnessing harassment, repeating the message “don’t be a bystander,” and adding that people should act “to help other women” even when it feels difficult or unsafe.
Harassment remains a common issue for women, especially in public spaces. A 2024 study found that about 73% of women have experienced sexual harassment in public at some point in their lives, with women facing higher rates than men across different environments. Unfortunately, such incidents continue to reflect how often women still deal with unwanted behavior in everyday places.
Many internet users also praised the woman's courage in the comment section. @isobelgeorgiapriest wrote, "You are a queen, we love you!" @pestopesto said, "Thank you for standing up for women." @maxthelazycat mentioned, "This is a civic duty. Looking out for everyone in society and using all resources to prevent anything bad. You are inspiring!" @perpetuallyonline remarked, "You’re a real girl’s girl, and that’s incredibly admirable. Thank you."
