Most women would have had their share of creepy encounters with strangers. Be it the workplace or a casual hangout, inappropriate behavior from people they may or may not know is not an uncommon experience they face. However, TikTok user @tripptokk10 was with his friends at a bar and was shocked at a man harassing one of his female friends. But what shook him the most was the apology that followed when he asked him to back off after the woman looked uncomfortable being touched. Sharing the story with his TikTok followers on December 17, 2025, Tripp wrote in the caption, "Respecting women means listening to them the first time."

Tripp took to his TikTok account to share how the behavior of certain men made him furious. The TikTok user and his friends had visited a bar, where one of the girls was chatting with a man. However, the man immediately put his hands on her shoulders, which made her uncomfortable. Tripp shared that the woman who was feeling uneasy began shrugging his hands off her shoulders. He continued his behavior despite her making it clear multiple times that she didn't like to be touched by him. As she decided to walk away from him, he chased her to grab her hand. Tripp, who decided to intervene, asked him to back off and was astonished by the man's reaction. He revealed that the man immediately apologized to him, which puzzled him. "You didn't do anything to me; you were harassing her," he said, to which the man responded, "I respect you so much."
His response caught him off guard and made him reflect on how men behave and enforce boundaries differently with men and women. He expressed his confusion over the man apologizing to him instead of the woman whom he had been harassing. Tripp also noted that this behavior of the man completely pissed him off. The TikTok user emphasized how it took him only one time to tell the man to back off, but he only chose to listen to him, rather than the woman who faced his harassment and repeatedly asked him to stop disturbing her. "Go apologize to her and change your behavior, because an apology without changed behavior is just a manipulation tactic," he noted.
