He watched a flight attendant comfort an elderly woman terrified of flying — then the captain came down the aisle and took it a step further
Air travel can feel frightening for someone who is not used to flying, especially when the plane is about to take off. A passenger travelling to New Mexico noticed an elderly woman looking around for help as she became uneasy before departure. A flight attendant soon approached her and took her towards the back of the aircraft to understand what was wrong. Producer and content creator David Posso witnessed the exchange and later shared it in an Instagram video on November 2, 2026, under the username @iamdavidposso. Having taken around 150 flights in three years, he was surprised by the crew's response to the woman's fear and what happened moments later.
The woman explained that she was scared of flying, and the flight attendant comforted her and gave her a hug. She gently reassured her, saying, "It's okay, my sweetheart." Posso found the moment touching, as the employee took time to help someone who was clearly nervous about travelling. A minute or two later, he noticed the captain walking down the aisle and greeting passengers. The producer then realized that the captain had come back to speak with her too. The pilot's decision to leave the cockpit and personally reassure a frightened passenger made the moment even more meaningful. He had not expected to see such personal attention from the flight crew.

The captain also stopped near Posso, thanked him for travelling with the airline, and shared a friendly gesture before going to the elderly woman. Posso said the captain's actions showed how much a little kindness can mean when someone is having a difficult time. He reflected that people do not always need advice or complicated solutions when they feel afraid; a calm presence and a few reassuring words can help them feel safe. He also appreciated that the crew chose to understand the woman's fear rather than dismiss it. The captain's visit left him with a positive impression of the airline, even though it was not usually his first choice.

He ended his video by praising the crew and saying the experience had given the airline "points" in his book. A kind gesture when someone is struggling can mean a lot to them. In another incident, a mother travelling alone with three young children received unexpected help from a flight attendant who noticed how difficult things were getting. The mother was carrying bags and managing a stroller while trying to settle her children on the plane. The attendant took the youngest child to their seat and stayed nearby, allowing the mother to get settled. When the toddler began crying before takeoff, the mother became overwhelmed and kept apologizing to nearby passengers.

After takeoff, the attendant checked on her and continued offering support throughout the journey. Once they landed, the attendant also helped the mother with her bags. The mother later told the crew member, "This may just be a job to you, but that one little encounter made such a difference." The attendant said she had simply done what felt natural to her, explaining, "It's my job; that's who I am." The exchange showed how a little patience and support can make a stressful journey easier for a parent travelling with young children.
