Parents want nothing but the safety of their children, especially when they’re trusting others to take care of them at school, on the road, etc. Their hearts are always carrying worry till their child is back safe and sound. The Franklin family, too, was soaked in fear when their 6-year-old, Colton, didn’t return from school, per KHOU 11. The little boy had only recently begun elementary school when his parents were worried sick that he hadn’t returned. When the boy didn’t show up at the bus stop after school, the family was terrified. However, an “angel” showed up to save the day. Colton had been traveling by bus for a while. He was taught to meet his older brother, Gavin, at the bus stop after which the duo would get home together.

Unfortunately, the boy didn’t turn up. “Gavin calls me and says, 'Mom, Colton didn’t get off the bus.' And I’m like, oh, shoot,” the mom, Arlene recalled. After making calls and checking around, the boy was nowhere to be found. All the mom was told was that “he’s on his way home.” “I’m like, well, he’s not home. He didn’t get off the bus. And we talked to the bus driver and she said he wasn’t on the bus. She told me to go ahead and talk to transportation," she explained. The 6-year-old was missing and the parents frantically drove around in hopes that they might spot their boy. “I didn’t know where I was going. I just knew I would take the route to the school,” the mom noted.

As parents to the toddler, they feared the worst and one can only imagine the nightmares that crossed their minds. With bleak hopes, as the parents moved around in their vehicle, hope showed up. Arlene received a notification of her doorbell ringing. Footage of the same was shared in a clip by the outlet. A woman was seen at the Franklins’ doorstep with 6-year-old Colton. She arrived with the boy at the door and tried asking him about his parents’ whereabouts. “I don’t know if your mommy’s here. Is she usually here, baby?” the woman soothingly asked Colton. The little boy was too shocked by the scenario and being little, didn’t have much to say. All he had was an address card made by his teacher around his neck which helped the woman locate the Franklins.

The woman rang the doorbell but received no response. “Do you know Mommy’s phone number?” she asked. Throughout the video, the kind stranger kept Colton company and gave him hope, assuring him that his parents were out there looking for him. As soon as Arlene got the notification and saw the duo at the door, she rushed home and was reunited with her boy. The stranger recalled driving around when she saw Colton looking like he was “running for his life.” She went out of her way to look at the address and get him to safety.

As soon as the boy reunited with his parents, the woman gave Arlene a warm hug. "She didn’t have to stop. She could’ve gone about her day. But she took the time to notice a little boy in trouble. She hugged me, knowing I was a stranger. That just shows that there are people still out there who are compassionate and care about one another. I don’t know what we can do but I just want to formally thank her,” the mom said with a smile on her face.
