Her potential date mocked another woman for being a content creator — then revealed his own job and got unmatched

It felt ironic for him to complain about a recent date while calling her a 'red flag.'

A simple swipe on a dating app can lead to surprising conversations, awkward moments, and even red flags. One TikTok user shared an experience that quickly went viral because it combined a cringeworthy story with sharp observations about character and judgment. The story was posted by Jezabel (@jezacat) on December 8, 2025, and highlighted how a potential date mocked another woman for her career as a content creator, only to reveal his own ambitions in a way that made the connection uncomfortable and ultimately led to an unmatch.

In the video, she speaks directly to the camera, explaining how she matched with a man on Hinge, who she quickly realized had troubling attitudes. “I accidentally matched with a man who hates women,” she begins. She describes how he had just been on a bad date the day before and sent her a three-minute voice memo detailing the experience. He criticized the woman for small things, like asking what car he drives or ordering an appetizer, entrée, and dessert during the dinner date. She points out that he referred to her actions as “pocket watching,” meaning she was supposedly trying to gauge his finances. The user says, “I don’t understand that connection,” highlighting how ridiculous the reasoning sounded.

The situation escalated when the man learned the woman was a content creator. He immediately labeled this as a “red flag” and suggested her videos were inappropriate. She recalls questioning his behavior, saying, “His voicemail rubs me the wrong way. Always suspicious of men who talk s**t about women.” When she asked him what he did, he replied he was a bodyguard, hoping to become a physician, and jokingly added he might pivot into law if STEM didn’t work out. She immediately noticed the irony of how he criticized the woman for her choices while revealing a shaky career plan of his own. She explained, “You aren’t even all that great yourself, buddy,” as she began to lose patience with his judgmental tone.

The story continued with small but telling moments that sealed the mismatch. While texting her as she traveled in Paris, he asked her to bring him a magnet on her way back to LA. She said, “I don’t like that at all,” and decided to unmatch him. She summed up the experience by highlighting the man’s lack of accountability and constant indecision, saying, “Figure it out. Stop pivoting. Make a decision. You are 33.” The video resonated with viewers who found both the absurdity and the warnings relatable. One user, @thisisjennnnnn, wrote, "I would’ve unmatched even faster than you did!" @kailayeargin exclaimed, "Agree with you on all counts." @jacfrags commented, "And people always are on their best behavior in the beginning. If this is his best behavior, girl, you dodged a bullet."
