High schooler with ADHD missed an assignment after a doctor’s appointment — her teacher’s public remark had her mom calling the principal
The way a teacher speaks with a student has a huge impact on their development. A mom named Paige Conwell, who goes by @brandonandpaige.conwell on Facebook, refused to sit quietly after hearing about a teacher’s response to her teenage daughter, Courtney. In the clip shared on Tuesday, September 22, 2026, it was revealed that the teen has ADHD and had missed an assignment, which had been communicated to the school. However, the teacher made the situation upsetting, prompting the mom to demand an explanation.
The teen called her mom crying, and Paige could hear the teacher in the background, “coaching her” on what to say. She first said she was fine, but her mom knew something was off. The ninth grader explained that she was behind on classwork and missed an assignment. Hearing her speak, the man said, “You’re projected to fail my class.” He said it loudly enough for the entire class to hear. He later instructed Courtney to get back to class.
In tears, feeling humiliated, she walked back into a room full of students laughing. She struggled to compose herself, couldn’t focus on classwork, and faced more reprimands from the teacher. When Paige came to pick her up, she saw her daughter was still visibly upset. The teenager dreaded the idea of going back into a classroom where she was ridiculed.
The mom immediately called the school and demanded a meeting with the principal. In an update, she revealed that she had a discussion with the principal, assistant principal, guidance counselor, and the educator. The man admitted that certain behavior was uncalled for, and even apologized to the parents and student. Yet, the mom was not convinced. She even mentioned that following the incident, word spread through classmates, and she received calls from parents. They told her they had faced similar experiences with the same teacher. Paige asked that Courtney be moved to another class, because a teen who once looked forward to going to school now feared it.

A counselor was sent to the class, where the teacher finally revealed he was annoyed by the tapping of her feet. As soon as the break ended, the students got back to class and plotted revenge. They decided to stand up for their friend. Thirty students began tapping their feet. It sounded like a “chaotic cacophony,” which forced the teacher to apologize. Being an educator means being an example, not just a knowledgeable superior.
