In the clip filmed by the owners, the couple can be seen walking their dogs when one of their canines, Bunsen, a Bernese mountain dog, runs off from his owners. The owners, who were confused by his reaction, follow him, but Bunsen takes off ahead of his humans. The trail led them to another dog in desperate need of help.

The heartbreaking discover happened when the owners followed their pet around. However, Bunsen, who usually listens to their calls, chose to ignore and continued running ahead of them, which left them concerned. According to the clip shared on Yahoo News, Busen was seen approaching a creek, almost appearing to be trying to alert his owners to something. When his owner looked behind the creek, they realized the shocking truth. His pet dog had learned that a pup was freezing in the cold and wanted to protect it. In the video, Jason mentioned it is likely to be a stray dog, since it did not have a leash or collar.

Jason told reporters that the dog appeared sick and tired of roaming in the cold woods. Since the couple did not have supplies to provide, they contacted their son to bring a few rescue items for the time being.
