Dog owner got worried when she didn't receive any pet camera updates — she was heartbroken when she checked the cam

Leaving a pet at home, even for a shorter period, can be difficult for both the pet and their "hooman." However, people have to do just that for various reasons, such as going to work or school, seeing friends, going on vacations and so on. Now, to ensure that their four-legged friend is safe at home, the pet parents use things like a pet camera to check on them. However, not getting any proper information from the camera could be really worrying. Similarly, a woman named Alyssa–who goes by @acurrr on TikTok–shared how she was really stressed about getting no barking notifications on her pet cam, but what she saw next broke her heart.

"POV: You are not getting any barking notifications, so you check the camera to make sure it's working," Alyssa wrote in the text overlay of the photos from the camera. She checked the camera and found out that her dachshund was standing by the sofa and lying by the door, waiting for her with a solemn look, explaining the lack of barks. "I'd rather not know," Alyssa wrote in the caption, sad to see her pet's condition at being left at home.
The dog had put his head right next to the door and fell asleep waiting for Alyssa to be back home, per Newsweek. Alyssa shared that this happened to her every time she went out. "He always lays in front of the door while I'm gone. And when he hears me come home, he moves to his bed and pretends like he's been there the whole time," she revealed. Alyssa also pointed out that she felt really sad about how lonely her dog got every time she went out. In one of the comments, she also shared that it took all of her willpower not to return home the moment she saw something like this.

The video received nearly 32k views and over 2k likes. People took to the comment section to share stories of their pets and suggested Alyssa should stay at home with her dog at all times from now on. @sniper_squirrel wrote, "My pup (4 months old, 1.5 months with me) just sleeps on my favorite spot on the couch when I am away. So unbothered." @bartondax_dachshunds commented, "Enjoy your new life at home 24/7," suggesting that the dog should never be left alone from then on. @angelicaboyle remarked, "I would come home immediately."
In another similar story, a woman received a special request from her professor: to bring her dog to the class that day if she could. The student wrote an email to her professor explaining how she had to leave for Atlanta after his class as a storm was about to hit the region. If the professor, Joshua Kennedy, accepted her request, it would save her a trip back to her apartment and allow her to leave quickly. She also promised the dog would only be a "little" disruptive. Kennedy accepted the request because the dog looked like a "good girl" in the photos the woman had shared. The dog ended up going around the class to receive pets from everyone and didn't cause much trouble. The pictures of her beloved furry friend in the class and the emails were shared on X (@jesssssslewis).
