His neighbor kept blocking his driveway 'just for a bit' — so he made one call before the guy’s date arrived and watched her walk away

The neighbor, with a silver sedan, seemed to live by one rule: laws were for everyone else, not him.

Living in a neighborhood often requires patience and respect for shared spaces. One man said his neighbor repeatedly ignored that basic rule. According to a Reddit post shared under the username u/VryCuteAjaBharDuChut on May 17, 2025, the situation had been building for weeks. The neighbor often parked directly in front of his driveway and brushed it off as no big deal. Each time, he would claim it was only temporary. After one more incident, the homeowner decided to take action, making a single call before his neighbor’s planned Tinder date arrived, a choice that later ended with the woman walking away before the night even began.

In the Reddit post titled “My neighbor blocked my driveway one too many times, so I had his car towed during his Tinder date,” the man explained what he did in detail. After coming home and finding the driveway blocked again, he chose not to leave another note or warning. Instead, he contacted a tow truck and had the car removed.

He wrote that his neighbor always said, “I’m just here for a bit,” but that “a bit apparently means an eternity.” He described his neighbor as someone who believed “rules are for other people,” calling him “an arrogant 6 feet something hunk, in his mid 20s.” That evening, he noticed the neighbor inside getting ready, putting on cologne, and preparing to head out. The silver sedan was once again parked across the driveway.

After several past conversations and repeated requests to stop, he felt there was no reason to argue again. This time, he followed through with action instead of words. About 45 minutes later, the homeowner was sitting on his porch when a woman walked up, clearly dressed for a date. She knocked on the neighbor’s door, and he came out smiling, only to suddenly notice that his car was no longer there. He looked confused and began searching the street. That was when the homeowner calmly said, “If you’re looking for your car, it got towed. You were blocking my driveway. Again.”

The moment became more uncomfortable when the woman asked, “Wait, you parked in front of his driveway?” The neighbor tried to explain, but she simply replied, “Wow. That’s trash,” before turning around and walking away. Since that night, the homeowner has not seen the driveway blocked again. He also claimed the neighbor has not brought another date home since the incident. The post ended by noting that the neighbor’s confidence “took a major hit.”

Having neighbors can sometimes be a blessing, but at other times it can turn into a complete nightmare. In another incident, a man shared how one neighbor kept sneaking into his yard and stealing fuel from his gas can. He noticed the can was “always nearly empty,” even though his mower had “like a 1-quart tank.” After setting up a camera, he caught the neighbor in the act. Instead of confronting him, he admitted, “For the next week… I pissed in that gas can.” Later, knowing the neighbor had past legal trouble, he used his details to submit a ride-along request. Authorities then discovered outstanding warrants and arrested him soon after.
