75-year-old homeless woman offered her only meal to a stranger. He repaid her by completely changing her life

When you go out of your way to give the little you have, kindness is exercised pricelessly. This kindness comes around and repays people in the most miraculous ways. A homeless woman named Linda Witt-King had her life turned around unexpectedly after she offered her best to a stranger in need, per ABC 7 News. A man named Jimmy Darts–who goes by @jimmydarts on TikTok–approached her for a meal, and she handed him the little she had without a second thought. When he learned of her story, he intervened in a mesmerizing way to help her out. Darts approached King and asked her if she could spare something for him to eat. Without hesitating, she offered him a packet.

After a few seconds, she looked into her bag to find more items to offer. She gave all she could to the stranger. “You’re an angel,” he remarked. After sharing a warm hug, Darts revealed his real identity and that he was out there to help kind people. “Because you helped me, I have something for you,” he said. Taking out $1,000, he gave the cash over to the woman, who was jaw-dropped. She was moved to tears as Darts explained that he was trying to repay her for her kindness. Her response left the man in disbelief. “I can go to a motel instead of my tent tonight,” King said.

Unsure how to react, Darts asked why King helped him when she herself was in a dire state. To this, she replied, “There’s a man out there. He’s homeless, he’s desperate and he’s a nice man,” King explained. She went on to say that she ran into the man often and hoped to help him out when she could. She also noted that she desired to help other homeless people. “But you’re homeless,” Darts said. “I can’t see what’s needed unless I’m down on the streets experiencing it,” she replied. Moved by the woman’s perspective, Darts decided to start a GoFundMe to assist King and her mission to help others.

“I found out that she was homeless and living in a tent. She even told me that she’s been homeless since 2015 and that she became homeless so that she could help understand and help them more,” Darts explained in the description. According to the National Alliance to End Homelessness, around 653,104 people experienced homelessness on a single night in January 2023. King related to their pain and wanted to help in any way she could. Darts joined her initiative and, with the help of the community, raised over $46,546 for King. In a follow-up video, Darts broke the news to King about their newly collected funds.

The elderly woman was shocked and speechless. “I can get a van. That was my next step, to get a van where I can sleep, work, be mobile,” she remarked. Excitedly, she exclaimed. “Oh my gosh!” She found a place to live in Costa Mesa and purchased a van as she dreamed. “My life has completely changed. I have been enormously blessed when I help somebody. When I give somebody food, I'm blessed and this time in a major way," she said. King hoped to use the funds to create the “Gracious Nomad Academy” to address homelessness in Orange County.
