Husband and wife introduced their widowed grandmothers to each other and their reaction was totally unexpected

No one is too old to make new friends and meet new people. Moreover, people can find friends in the most unexpected ways and at unusual times and they hit it off like they always knew each other. Something similar happened to two grandmothers who found friendship in each other. Their grandkids decided to introduce them to each other and the two got along surprisingly well. The woman, Sophie Jane Rees–who goes by @thehappyestheticiann on TikTok–shared how her grandma became friends with her husband's grandma.

"When my husband and I met, we realized that both of our 90-year-old grandmas were widows. So we introduced them to each other and they have been best friends since," the text overlay of the video read. The man walked his grandma to Rees' grandma's house, where the duo was supposed to meet. Her grandma opened the door for them and warmly greeted her friend with a big hug. They ate with each other after the man had left and continued talking to each other as they sat at the table. They were also looking at old photos together while holding onto each other and with big smiles on their faces.
At the end of the video, the duo even posed for a photo and looked very happy to have each other. Rees captioned the video, "Meeting new besties at 90 years old. They talk together like they're still in high school!" The video received over 147k likes. People loved the beautiful bond between the two women and shared similar experiences they had in the comment section. @fibrofightingbarbie wrote, "This is how my Nana and grandma were when they met, when my parents started dating. As they aged, my Nana went blind and my grandma went deaf. They were so funny together."
@grp1776 commented, "My mom and mother-in-law were the best of friends brought together by us. They loved to study the Bible and drink sweet tea together. Now, they're both enjoying the glory of heaven together." @helena_chalupa remarked, "My husband’s Nonna and Grammy were besties too. They used to make my mother-in-law or father-in-law pick them up and give them rides to each other’s houses. Nonna was even mentioned in Grammy’s obituary and the fun stuff they did." @shanellen0905 shared, "I just love when nanas are just hanging out doing nana things. They’re so precious and gentle! This would heal every single part of me that hurts. Just by watching them smile together."

@kal_knotten.jr expressed, "I met my best friend the first day I was helping with an event for my ambassador program at my college. I gave up on having a friend because they kept backstabbing me, but my bestie and I are like sisters. I’m 21 years old with a true sense of what friendship is now. And I absolutely love every minute of it. I was scared I’d be lonely through the best years of my life, now I’ve got someone to share my memories with." @jaynehughes14 pointed out, "They are so good for each other. Many common bonds. Like my Mom was with her step sister at the end of their lives after my dad passed."
