Incredible clip shows firefighters responding to call of duty while engrossed in crucial soccer match
When a World Cup tournament starts, time stops for sports fanatics and all their focus shifts towards the performance of their favorite team. In the case of soccer, nothing matters more than the final goal and the precious trophy. But when the moment coincides with an urgent call of duty, you have to wisely choose the one that needs your time and presence more. And employees of the Croatian Fire Department handled this dilemma quite well. When the 2018 World Cup semi-finalists Russia and Croatia were taking each other head-on, the firefighters, too, wanted to make some good memories of the match.
Around a dozen firefighters were seated together at the station, watching the semi-finals that was a top agenda for millions back then. The group dawned Croatian jerseys and were glued to the TV screen, focused on what was unfolding on the field. A few seconds later, while the men were deep into the game, the fire alarm rang. Within a second of it, each one of them got up and ran out from their chairs. As invested as they were in the match, they immediately sprung to action and within 10 seconds, they got the attire, and equipment and were ready to roll.
When a few were about to leave, the others also got up astutely and helped load the necessary equipment into the vehicle. With the match playing on the TV in the background, the assigned crew jumped into the fire brigade, switched on the siren and left. It was only after the vehicles had left the station that the rest of the men shifted their focus back to the match to check what they missed. It was crazy, how the men quickly got up and left, without looking back at the match even for a second.
The video concluded with the remaining 3 men watching the rest of the match to watch Croatia win the semi-finals and celebrate to their heart’s content. The World Cup means a lot to many, but the first responders have to be always aware of the position they hold and prioritize their jobs. The firefighters beautifully lived up to their titles and it is commendable how they were up and out within a minute of the alarm. As firemen, the job role requires the men to put their safety aside and save whoever is in danger. Following the ethics, the Kern County Fire Department recently sprung to action to put out a fire in a home in Taft, per BakersfieldNow.
The crew arrived in the early hours of the morning, in response to a call for a fire in a single-family, single-story home. The person living inside somehow managed to escape but a dog was stuck inside in the fire. The men astutely saved the pet and even managed to put out the blazing fire. It was their quick and brave duty as usual that saved the life of the furry little one.
