Little boy horrified after asking pregnant woman why her belly was so big — his follow-up question is comedy gold
Kids never fail to make people laugh with their hilarious responses. A woman and Threads user who goes by (@kruspernilla) was standing at a communal shower when a kid asked her why her belly was so big. However, her response left the kid horrified in the funniest way possible. Sharing the story with Threads users on Wednesday, May 13, 2026, the woman revealed how she was able to trick the kid into believing that she was a supposedly intimidating person.
The woman was "heavily pregnant" when she saw a fellow mother and her little son at a communal shower. The little boy stared at her belly and asked why it was so huge. But her immediate response left him bewildered. "Because there's a baby in it," she said, to which he responded, "You ate a baby?" with a paranoid-looking face. The woman was likely equally shocked by his response and could not stop laughing at the hilarious reply. Kids often show inquisitiveness towards pregnancy and childbirth. While adults try to be careful about explaining the concept to them, kids still find it complex to comprehend. When the young toddler realized that there was a baby in the woman's belly, his immediate assumption was that she had swallowed a kid to keep it in her belly.
@donnalonghofer wrote, "At a home group meeting, a woman went into the next room to breastfeed her baby. My daughter watched her wide-eyed and asked 'what is that baby doing to you?' The woman gently explained. My daughter thought for a minute, then said, 'That's the silliest thing I've ever seen. When I was a baby, I ate food, not people, and walked out." @kt_rulz commented, "My son very loudly said, 'Is that lady's baby going to come out of her butt? How did it get there? The daddy? Did I come out of your butt?" @chelelly wrote, "I worked in a doctor's office when I was very pregnant, and a little one there with his mom asked if I was having a baby. I said yes. He said, 'Boy, it's gonna be a fat one!' Mom was flustered, but I just laughed and agreed. It was pretty funny!"
The toddler's reaction reminds us of little Valentina, who had the sassiest response when asked about her thoughts on Valentine's Day. Her mother asked the little girl what she thinks Valentine's Day is all about. The toddler, who was eating her meal, sighed and said, "I don't know, maybe you should ask your husband." She then went back to enjoying her meal in peace, expressing her disinterest in the subject. The kid's hilarious reply left the mother in stitches. If you want brutal honesty or just some unhinged humor, just ask a kid!
