Some moments in life show a person all that is worth living for. A dad experienced something similar when his daughter came out to him after they had spent the entire day together. The dad, u/ambal87, had stepped out for some quiet time, but his daughter's words and what followed made everything look better. He shared the wholesome incident with the Reddit community and pointed out how such moments made him feel deeply touched.

"I had a moment yesterday that I can't stop thinking about. One of those quiet dad moments that hits you right in the chest," the dad shared. The family had a full day. They did yard work, played baseball and went to the playground. He was tired but in the "best way." His kids were finishing dinner when he stepped out to enjoy the early evening. "Just needed a breath. A little stillness." A little while later, his daughter came out too and he asked her if she needed anything. "She just said, 'No, I'm here so you won't be alone.' My heart could've burst." His daughter had always been his "little shadow," so a part of him was not surprised. However, he was still touched by her little gesture.

"Then her baby brother, who follows her everywhere, came running out too." The dad added, "Then my oldest, the cool, quiet one, sat next to me without saying a word." The boy stared down the street like he was lost in his own thoughts. Then, the man's wife came out and joined them, too. No one said anything, and no one had to be called outside. "We all just sat there together as the sky turned pink and the day wound down." He recounted it as a "perfect" moment. "One of those rare, beautiful moments where you feel like, 'Yeah… this is it. This is everything,'" the dad pointed out. He encouraged people to share such moments and experiences that stuck with them in the comments.

A user wrote, "My daughter is 5. We are talking about having another kid, and we have (at a very high and age-appropriate level) brought her into the conversation. One day, we were talking about what if we have twins and I said, 'Mom and I only have 4 hands. If we have 3 babies (5-year-old plus twins), we won't have enough hands,' and I held my hands next to my wife's and counted them '1 2 3 4,' and my sweet girl with a heart of absolute gold put out her own two hands and said '5 6.' Little things like that tell me we're one family unit, and I don't think there's a greater feeling in the world than that."

u/Exaltrify commented, "Man, thanks for this. Currently in the trenches with a 5-week-old and it is hard. But, reading these gives me motivation to power through for my little moments." u/yeahitsblack remarked, "Last summer, my teenage daughter (who normally lives in her room) randomly sat next to me on the porch swing. We just watched the sunset without talking for 20 minutes. No phones, no agenda. Then she got up, squeezed my shoulder and went back inside. Sometimes, the best moments aren't planned."
