Man starts tiling his kitchen. Four days later, a 3:40 a.m. realization reveals the blunder he's made

Many people on the internet came up with creative solutions for the person and shared an interesting concept of 'Persian Flaw' to reassure them.

Decorating or renovating a house is not an easy thing by any means. One has to be very careful with every small step, as the tiniest mistake can cost a person a lot of time, effort and money. However, some mistakes are so small that an uninitiated person might not even notice them for quite some time. A man, u/mccarthybergeron, who tiled his kitchen for a few days hadn't noticed that he made a small error in the pattern and thought that it was mildly infuriating because he might have to do that section again.

"Realized at 3:40 AM after tiling for 4 days that I messed up the pattern in one small area," the caption to the post read. A really small area in the wall had a pattern that did not match the rest of the crisscross tiles. The wall was completely done and the person was in disbelief as they hadn't noticed it for such a long time while doing the wall. Some of the pieces on the wall still had blue tape on them to protect them from the tiling work, implying that the person finished the work only some time ago. Many people took to the comments section of the post to point out that they didn't even notice the mistake while looking at the wall. The error was in a couple of tiles in the smaller section of the wall, making it relatively easier to redo.

u/MonkeyHamlet wrote, "Every work of art must have a small imperfection, to let the maker’s soul escape. Or smash it all and start again. You do you." u/nameofcat commented, "There is a saying that some religions have, that only god can make perfect things. Like Persian rugs have an imperfection on purpose since only Allah can make things perfectly. Being human, we just have to do our best." u/bagglebites remarked, "I’ve loved this concept for years and it helps a lot when I’m fixated on 'perfection' in an artwork or craft project. (Especially, when I notice a mistake that I made in my knitting thirty rows ago…) When a purposeful mistake is made it’s sometimes called a 'Persian flaw.' Basically, the idea was that only god could create something perfect, so including an intentional flaw showed humility and piety."

u/kovdark shared, "I want my fancy tiles and a nice kitchen for me, I want the pride of knowing I did a good job. If all I see every morning is my f*** up then it will frustrate me until I fix it. 'No one will notice,' the one person that matters if they notice, will notice." u/SharkyGeorge expressed, "First of all, that’s a fine tiling job and you should be proud of your work! Secondly, that’s a small area, you can redo it if you want or you put a coffee machine there as some others have suggested or you can leave it be if you’re that way inclined. But seriously that is some clean neat tiling, fair play!"

The person had started tiling the other side of the wall in the same pattern and shared an update with people. Unfortunately, they ended up making a small error with the pattern on the other side of the wall as well. "Update: I didn't learn my tile pattern lesson from last time," they wrote in the caption. However, it was on the smaller section of the wall this time around as well.
