A loving family might make a big difference in a person's life. A man who was taken away from his birth family along with his brother when he was just a baby had felt the need for one all his life. He was separated from his parents and put in the foster care system. Both brothers were adopted when they were just two years old. However, things were not easy for the man, Davon and his brother as they grew up. So all Davon hoped to find was a loving family at some point in life. Nonetheless, he never knew that he would find his family while trying to sell his car, per Happily

"My brother and I were taken away from our parents at birth. Placed into the foster care system. We got adopted by a family at the age of two years old," Davon explained. "Everybody thinks that once you hear adoption, you have got it made, like everything is all good. But in most cases it's not." The man had wished for a loving family all his life. "I always wanted a mom and son relationship, or a father and son relationship. Those were the relationships I looked for my whole life, but I could never find them." Then, back in 2021, a family came to look at his car, a Ford Runner, that he was planning to sell.

Davon started talking to the family and got a chance to tell them about his experiences growing up. "How I grew up, how I never heard 'I love you,' was never shown any affection and stuff like that." He added, "While I was in the middle of selling them a car, you could see the tears coming down. That's when they ended up telling me that, 'You know, you could be a part of our family.'" The man was grateful for all the love his new family showered him with from that point onwards. They took him out for his birthday and also invited him home for Thanksgiving. "It felt different, something I wasn't really used to, but I liked it. It was very special."

The man was grateful for all the acceptance he received from his newfound family. So he recorded a special video for them and asked them to become his "forever family." Davon went on, "You guys mean the world to me. Growing up in the system was very hard for me, as I did not receive proper love as a kid. Honestly, when I sold Sarah Jane, the car, I was telling you my story and hadn't thought I would actually become a part of a family." The 27-year-old man hoped that he could change his last name to Wilkinson and become a part of the family officially. The Wilskinsons were emotional listening to the message and said yes to Davon's request.

People appreciated the incident that allowed the man to meet his forever family in the comments section of the video. @jamescooke7243 wrote, "For a young man who grew up in the system, he should be incredibly proud of how he turned out. Very respectful and polite guy. Well done, sir." @Dapper_Panda shared, "In eighth grade, my teacher became the mom that I never had. We kept in contact on and off over the years and when I spoke of her to my friends, I called her 'mom.' Earlier this year, I asked if I could change my last name to hers and she said yes and helped me pick a new middle name. Today, I'll be joining her for Thanksgiving and meeting part of the family. She is my mom and always will be."
