Man with different sized pupils told optometrist he feels conscious about his looks – the doctor’s remark about women made him go silent
Patients sometimes hesitate to open about their diagnosis or how they feel about themselves. However, one man named Lukas decided to be transparent with his 80-year-old optometrist. In a video shared on his TikTok page, @lukasbattle, on September 15, 2026, he revealed that the internet kept urging him to get his eyes checked because they felt he had pupils of different sizes. The doctor gave him a harmless diagnosis, after which he admitted feeling odd about how he looked. The medic looked right back at him and hit him with one comment about women that left him speechless, but also helped lift his spirit.

Lukas mentioned that many commenters suggested that uneven pupils could indicate neurological damage. He didn’t want to wish to ignore it and decided to check with a doctor. When he met the optometrist, the latter examined him and said he was fine and that the difference was common for many. The man later confessed that he felt conscious about it, only to be hit back with an unexpectedly impressive reply. The practitioner told him, “God made women perfect, but he made all men a little ugly, so stop complaining.” He confidently added that this was natural and so the patient had nothing to worry about.

While the remark was unexpected and bizarre, possibly even debatable to some, it was something Lukas could lean on. After hearing the optometrist’s words, he noted that he never felt weird about his appearance again. According to him, they were words of wisdom, and the unusual explanation seemed satisfying to commenters. @henaspasicart wrote, “Doctor is wise beyond years.” @maggiemae1409 added, “Now look at me, agreeing with a man.” @pootiepack remarked, “An optometrist and philosopher.” A change of perspective can do a great deal to lift one’s spirits and take away negativity.

How one responds to acts or words of criticism or self-doubt can make or break a person. In another instance, a 10-year-old left her friend feeling hopeful after she was bullied by a student. He made fun of her teeth, calling her a beaver. The little girl quickly walked up to her pal and said, “That's not about you; that's about him. You don't have to worry about that.” In an instant, the youngster felt supported, loved, and knew she wasn't alone. Without knowing it, that one comment helped instill self-confidence. Her mom later shared that as a victim of bullying herself, she couldn’t have been prouder of how her daughter handled the situation. She mentioned that she knows the weight words carry, and her little one framed her response so well that it left no room for doubt in her friend. Support can look as simple as a statement during a routine conversation.
