Former President Barack Obama left spectators astonished after a toddler took to his liking and had the most adorable reaction to him soothing her, per CNN. Barack and then-First Lady Michelle Obama were greeting a few people at the Congressional Picnic on the South Lawn of the White House when the wholesome event occurred, per the Obama White House.
A woman and her baby greeted the duo, and Michelle, ever so lovingly, took the little one in her arms and began caressing her. However, the baby was not in her best mood and was frantically crying. Nothing seemed to comfort her, and her wailing kept getting louder and louder. Michelle gently spoke to and coddled the baby, trying to divert her attention and make her smile. However, it did not work, as the baby kept crying. The former president, standing beside his wife, took a note of the sobbing infant. He looked at her gently and tried to make sounds and comforting gestures to console the little one.
The baby's mom and other spectators, too, tried to comfort the girl in hopes of getting a decent picture of her with the duo. Nevertheless, the baby refused to budge until Barack stepped in. He decided to take the little girl into his arms, and within a millisecond, even before she was completely in his arms, she stopped crying. One could barely tell she had been yelling and crying seconds before. Being in the then-president’s arms, she was quiet and already took an instant liking to him. This swift change left Michelle flabbergasted.
Unable to believe what just happened, she proudly, yet still in disbelief, looked at her husband and the baby, completely comfortable together. The crowd, too, was astonished at the baby’s immediate change. The former president was so proud of what had unfolded that he could not help but sneak a smirk at his wife. The wholesome moment has undoubtedly become a precious captured memory for the family and the spectators. But this was not all.
