Mike Tyson has the most honest reaction after being confronted by the man he robbed as a teen
One goes through vivid experiences to become a successful and dream version of oneself. From childhood, many interactions and encounters add to life experiences and shape one’s life and personality. Professional boxer Mike Tyson had his share of a colorful past with pros and cons. The boxer had a troubled childhood devoid of the best financial facilities and had his history, per Essentially Sports. However, leaving behind the past, he has made legendary fame for himself. In one of the recent mini-series by Netflix, featuring Tyson ahead of his spur with boxer Jake Paul, the man had an unbelievable encounter with a man he’d robbed in his teen years. Decades later, they had the most heartwarming interaction.
In this episode, Tyson had revisited his home neighborhood in Brownsville. The video of this intriguing meet was shared by @xcellentmma on Instagram. The fan came up to him and asked for a selfie to which the boxer obliged. However, he caught him off guard when he revealed in a whisper, “You robbed me when I was 8 years old in Amboy and Pitkin.” Tyson, completely aloof from the encounter, tried to recollect the same. “I robbed you?” he asked in a witty fashion. He then hugged the man in a mutual heartwarming moment and engaged in a light-hearted banter. “Now he’s blaming me for robbing him, got robbed,” Tyson exclaimed.
The robbery had been long forgiven but not forgotten. “By the Woolworth store, you remember the Woolworth store,” the man asked Tyson. “We took pictures there,” he replied. In all humility, the boxer apologized for his decades-old petty crime. The man-turned-fan of Tyson held no grudges all this while. He’d only come with love and light for Tyson and shared the moment as an ironic and witty interaction. “No, don’t worry about it, baby,” he heartwarmingly said before greeting Tyson and leaving. The duo took the situation in the best way possible.
People were baffled to learn about the legend's teen years but more at the beautiful way the duo acknowledged the incident from the past. Others were glad to see the boxer turn his life around. @bagsoutfothecat wrote, “The robbery was small, but for the rest of his life he could say Mike Tyson robbed him, and then he got a video of Tyson reacting. That's priceless.” @antonio_1985omg remarked, “He was robbed by the best!” @shaynesnypes hysterically said, “Tyson was a real goon, boxing saved him and us.”
@thedesertchild01 wrote, “It’s so great to see the truly matured man Tyson living and enjoying life!” @dranklizard shared, “Sometimes things come full circle and we can fix, repair, atone and make things better than before.” @dwizhilostos added, “He turned out to be a better person at the end.” @martinwilliams1981 remarked, “It’s as real as it gets. We all love you, Mike!” @cassellinc added, “And that's love for the city.”
