Some of the best ideas do not come from planning, but from kids just being kids. A mother, Brontë (@zellyandb), had preserved the last bag of breast milk in the freezer at work. In fact, she wasn't even sure what she was going to do with it until her 2-year-old daughter did something that surprised her. She shared an adorable video of her daughter Zelly on Instagram on Wednesday, January 14, 2026, which has gained widespread attention from moms around the world, as reported by PEOPLE on Wednesday, January 14, 2026.

Young mother Brontë has transitioned Zelly to solids; however, she had preserved the last bag of her breast milk in the freezer at work. It was when her co-worker reminded her of the bag that she thought about it. "I knew it was there, but if it was at work, then I knew we wouldn't use it. Which sounds weird, but I don't think I was ready for that last bag to go," she said. When Brontë returned home with the bag to keep it in the freezer, her daughter Zelly noticed it. She immediately approached her mother, extending her hands towards the frozen milk bag and said, "Mine, mama. My bite. Mine," Brontë revealed. In the video shared by the mother, the toddler was seen seated on the couch, biting into the frozen milk. Surprisingly, the mother shared that her daughter wasn't a fan of frozen breast milk as a baby; watching her bite into the frozen milk stunned her. In the caption, Brontë wrote, "Parenting is 100% improvisation. Anyone else hold onto that final bag like it was worth its weight in gold?"

"When we would give her the milk baths (for her eczema), she would grab the frozen milk from the tub and eat it, but that was never anything that happened often," she shared. Brontë, who was unsure about what she was going to do with the last bag of breast milk, had already turned some of her supply into breast milk jewelry. She called the last bag her "emotional support bag of milk." In a 2023 study published in the Journal of Biological Research for Nursing, researchers examined the effects of frozen breast milk on infants. Studying 40 infants, they found that infants receiving frozen milk had higher counts of Streptococcus and Enterobacteriales, the human pathogens, as compared to infants who consumed fresh breast milk.

Soon after the video went viral, many moms across the internet shared similar stories. "Not once did I ever think a video of my kid taking bites of her frozen milk would resonate with so many different people," Brontë remarked. @sarawilson.pac expressed, "Breastmilk popsicle. Brilliant!" @joseyrowe commented, "Mine begged for it when he saw it in the freezer! This is how my last one went, too." @mary_valliere42 recounted, "I used some of my milk for a bath for my baby's eczema, and the smell of my milk in a warm bath actually made me dry heave. The thought of this milk popsicle is sending me."
