The sitter asked the parents to wait an extra 45 minutes before returning, offering no clear reason for the delay. The request felt unusual and immediately raised concern. The video begins with an on-screen text explaining that the family had gone away for the weekend and were told by the babysitter not to come home right away. A screenshot of messages with the babysitter shows her asking them to wait 45 minutes before returning, without stating the reason clearly. When the mother asked why, the sitter suggested it was “something cute” and asked her to record herself walking in. At one point, the sitter mentioned stepping out for dinner, prompting the mother to ask who was watching the kids. The answers were vague, but calm enough that the parents decided to wait. When the parents finally entered the house while filming, both froze. The husband asked, “What is going on?” before staring at one child and asking again about her hair. The mother stood silently as the on-screen text read, “I was speechless.” The camera then showed all three children smiling, each with pink hair. The son’s hair was fully pink, the daughter had a pink hue at the ends, and even the one-year-old had streaks of color. Her four-year-old daughter had semi-permanent color, while chalk was used for the three-year-old son and the baby, which would wash out easily in a single wash or two. She admitted she did not want to upset the kids by reacting negatively and hence, chose not to say anything in the moment because, as she said, “my kids had the biggest smiles on their faces.” She also explained that while the sitter was out to dinner, other people she lives with were at home watching the kids. Later, she revealed in the video that the sitter was her 16-year-old sister. "She was actually referred to me by one of my best friends; my mom actually had her, so she is my sister." Laughing it off, she said, “It really wasn’t that big of a deal to me,” adding that motherhood had taught her to let small things go. "You live, and you learn, especially as a mom, especially when you have three."
