Upset 6-year-old storms out to 'find a new family' — her parents laughed at first but her follow-through left them surprised

Children can have the most unhinged tantrums, and if they put their mind to it, there’s no convincing them out of it. Upsetting a child is not funny business, but their reactions can surely leave a chuckle or two. Similarly, a woman named Elizabeth Russo (@elizabeth.maryy) shared how her 6-year-old daughter, Paisley, took some serious action after she got angry with her parents. Her solution was to “find a new family.” While her parents thought she would walk back home after a few steps, they were stunned to see her determination. However, there always has to be a colorful dose when it comes to kids and right enough, everything about this brave little decision has the internet in stitches.

The video captured the girl confidently walking across the street to the neighbor’s house. She sported two bags loaded with items, along with a bag on her shoulders. This girl definitely meant business. “She said she was leaving to find a new family,” the mom wrote in the text overlay. In the caption, Russo revealed that she didn’t even know her neighbors and hadn’t met them even once. She mentioned that she thought Paisley would get tired and return. To her surprise, she did nothing of the sort. Russo was shocked to witness that she kept going and wasn’t looking back. 

People laughed it off initially, thinking that the girl would come back. @cashcatwillrule said, “Is this a girl thing? My sister and I also did this at her age.” @taee11512 remarked, “Social anxiety fears her!” In a follow-up video, Russo revealed that her daughter was considering “auditioning” for the new neighbors so they would be convinced and take her in. Since the family moved in a week or two ago, they didn’t know them, nor had they ever met them. The mom quickly stopped playing and got serious. Her daughter was still hurrying over to the other side, but she immediately went and got her back into the house. 

Unpacking her three heavy bags, the mom was baffled to find the most unhinged items. She first pulled out a couple of toys. Paisley also had a pair of pajamas and a headband and a scrunchie to ensure her comfort during her supposed stay with the neighbors. When Russo found a pair of roller skates, each shoved in two different bags, she said, “She doesn’t even know how to roller skate.” The contents of the bag kept getting funnier. There was a single sneaker and a sandal, both no longer fit the 6-year-old, a heap of books and even a Bible. Apart from clothes and physical essentials, she had everything she needed to stay over comfortably.

People had mixed reactions, mainly applauding Paisley for her confidence to show up at a stranger’s home and for the unhinged factors that marked a comfortable and chic stay. @jowallace18 said, “I love this for her, girl is prepared, not sure for what though.” @ashgratz remarked, “The Bible being at the bottom means it was the first item, and that’s so cute.” @lola.oliviaa wrote, “As an education assistant, I see why she packed all the things she packed. Flawless.”
