Parents and children have some of the craziest adventures together when they become buddies. Angela Ramey and her daughter Grace from Minnesota witnessed this when they signed up for a basketball game. The duo was stoked to witness a life-changing shot together at the basketball court, reported ABC News. They were attempting to make a half-court shot and just before all hope was lost, the mom secured a basket in the most unbelievable way, winning an amount off on her daughter’s tuition.

Ramey was at a volunteering meal-packing event when she was faced with the opportunity to get tuition money off for her daughter. The catch was that she had to make a half-court basketball shot within three attempts. The mom made the first attempt but failed and was worried. The 9-year-old gave it a shot the second time, but she couldn’t score the basket either. Finally, Ramey decided to “say a quick prayer” and attempt a third shot with all she had, per Good Morning America. “I lined up the shot, I bounced the ball, and I threw it granny-style,” she recalled. The footage shared revealed the winning shot attempted.

The mom threw the ball with all her might, and it made one bounce before going straight into the basket. At first, Ramey saw the ball bounce and thought she had lost her chance, but when the people cheered, she quickly turned around in disbelief to see the ball come out of the basket. Her daughter’s continuous cheering and hope, as well as the mom’s prayers and determination, played out beautifully in securing the shot just at the right time. The shot was so unbelievable that even Ramey’s husband couldn’t believe what he heard.

“He was just kind of silent and then our head administrator sent him the clip from his cell phone and then he was just like, ‘We saved some money,'” the mom recalled. Grace is exceptionally proud of her mother, but from the way the shots were going, she didn’t imagine her mother would make such a brilliant score. “I was really excited that she had made it in because I went, ‘Okay, it bounced. She really tried. I’m glad for her.' And then I’m like, ‘Oh my gosh. She made it in the bucket,’” the girl recalled. As the mom and daughter interacted with the media for interviews, one couldn’t help but see the gleaming joy and pride on their faces.

As per the Bethany Academy website, the tuition fee ranges between $3,306 and $10,000. With around half of the amount off, it was a relief to the Ramey family. A clip of the mind-blowing incident was also shared by the Bethany Academy, and they were undoubtedly proud to welcome the little girl for quality education.
