Grandpa saw several kids without shoes at great-granddaughter's basketball game. He went straight to the shoe store.

Every kid deserves to have a prosperous life where they don't lack necessities. Unfortunately, this is not the case with all families. Some parents struggle to spend a good chunk of money on their kids' sports gear or uniforms. But the internet is filled with stories where strangers have stepped up to help kids who are not well-off. A mom to two girls, Erin Kylie Geary, (@erinkgeary on Instagram), shared a sweet video about something her grandfather did for her daughter's basketball buddies. The video proved that the people who help others quietly are truly angels walking amongst us.

"Last week at my daughter's basketball game, my Pawpaw noticed several kids without decent shoes," the overlay text of the video shared by Geary read. "He asked the coach about which of the kids he could help and was given a list. Four kids will play basketball this weekend with new shoes on their feet because of him." Geary's Pawpaw and her younger daughter were filmed visiting a Shoe Carnival store. The elderly gentleman was seen browsing through countless racks of shoes to find the best four pairs before buying them.
While he shopped for the shoes, his great-granddaughter was occupied with a Spin-the-Wheel game. The grandpa and the kid made their exit from the store with four pairs of Nike shoes for the kids to play basketball. After making the purchase, Geary also opened two of the boxes to show her followers how the brand-new sneakers actually looked, eventually stacking them up neatly. The video's comments section sang praises for Geary's grandpa for anonymously helping the school kids who probably could not afford new shoes for the basketball game.

@wolfieandfritz cheered, "Papaw doing God’s work. What a way to set an example! God bless you." @maru_1621 commented, "It is usually people who have lacked something in life and they know that pain. They try to give so someone else doesn’t feel that way." @ingthecorg wrote, "God Bless you. What a great way to give back and see it through. So inspiring." @evalillyyy asked, "How did the kids react to the shoes?" Geary answered the query and wrote, "This was done anonymously, but I was told by the coach that the kids loved them and the parents were thankful." @conwaybennygunn777 added, "This just goes to show that the world is not doomed while there are incredible people out there like this man. Bless his heart for helping out like that."

Grandfathers like Geary's papaw never fail to do wholesome things for the younger generation. In one such similar story, a single mother named Samantha Holman (@samanthabrookex on TikTok), was battling mental health issues and was having a hard time doing basic chores like dropping her daughter at school. That was when Holman's father stepped in to support his daughter, as well as, granddaughter, and took up the task of dropping the little girl to school every day. The single mom revealed a video of her dad with her daughter as they left the house for school. "My daughter adores him, he's 6’5’ but calls himself Peter Pan because he doesn't grow up. That just sums him up as a person,” Holman noted.
