Mom who forgot toddler son's diapers on a cross-country flight shared the ultimate hack for moms in the same situation

Although parents try to stay well-prepared while traveling with a kid, sometimes slip-ups can happen. A mom found herself in a similarly difficult situation when she realized that she didn't have any diapers for her 2-year-old on a cross-country flight. The parent panicked at one moment, but soon enough, the mom realized what she could do to deal with the situation at that moment. The mom, Maddy Rasmussen, shared her genius hack on TikTok, where she goes by @maddyrasmussen1.

The mom and dad had woken up at 3:30 AM for the flight and had accidentally put the diapers in the checked-in bag. "POV: Mom forgot to bring a change of diaper on the flight and we are on the brink of disaster," the text overlay of the video read. Rasmussen stuffed panty liners in her son's pajamas to make things work. The kid looked inside his pajamas with a surprised expression on his face after that. "We simply forgot," the mom told TODAY.com. The mom was flying from Pennsylvania to Utah with her husband and son when the two-year-old boy wet his diaper mid-air. The parents had a difficult morning and had accidentally checked the bag with the diapers before the 3 and a half hour flight to their layover city, according to the outlet.
"We were so busy with school and work — I was working night shifts leading up to this and my husband is in medical school — so there was a lot going on," Rasmussen recounted. The mom had a hint of realization that she had checked in her son's diaper bag, but she thought things would be okay because she had one emergency diaper in her son's backpack. But when they checked the bag for the extra diaper when their son wet the one he was wearing, it wasn't there. "Our stress levels spiked a little bit, so we talked to the flight attendant." They came to know that there were no diapers on the plane and the only other family with a small child was asleep. Then she remembered that she had panty liners in her backpack and stuck them to her son's pants. The woman called the liners her "saving grace."
Rasmussen revealed that fortunately, her toddler was not bothered by what had happened, even when the diaper had started leaking a little by the end of their flight. They quickly wiped their seats and ran to a store to get diapers at the airport. They also changed the child's outfit so he was dry for the connecting flight. "You can either laugh about it or hold onto it. We laughed about it." People shared their thoughts on the incident in the comments section of the video.

I reminded him to go every half an hour." @wolfpup163 commented, "We all forget stuff sometimes, lord knows I have. This will be funny to talk about once they are older." @mamamelx3 remarked, "We packed all of my son's pull-ups by accident in checked luggage only to realize after the fact. Thankfully, we mentioned to our airline and they had some from people who left them, etc. and saved the day."
