When we think about wedding days, we picture beautifully decorated venues, cheerful crowds and couples who are about to embark on their marital journey. Nobody likes getting their wedding attires soiled, especially while they are getting photographed with their spouse. But one groom didn't think twice before abandoning his wedding shoot for a noble reason. According to CTV News, the wedding day of a couple from Ontario became even more unforgettable after the groom jumped into an impromptu rescue mission.

The groom, Clayton, was not worried about getting his tuxedo ruined in the middle of posing for wedding photos when he saw a child drowning at a distance. Clayton's wife, Brittany spoke to the news channel and recalled how she initially had no idea when or why her husband had rushed into a river. The river was flowing through a local park where the couple were getting their post-wedding pictures taken by photographer Darren Hatt. It was a hot summer day when children were playing in the park and all of a sudden, a young kid fell into the river. Fortunately, Clayton noticed it just in time to pull the boy to safety.

"His face was underwater," Clayton recalled to the news station during an interview with his wife. "He was really fighting. Luckily, it was only a little guy and I could sort of grab him and pull him up." "He sprung into action quickly. As soon as I realized what was going on, he had already saved the day," Hatt shared his point of view of the day. The couple's wedding photographer shared two pictures he snapped at the perfect time on his Facebook page, Hatt Photography.

In one shot, Clayton could be seen standing in the river while pulling out the drenched boy as two other kids approached them. The second photo showed the kid walking away safely and Clayton stepping out of the river in his ruined tux. "That's just Clay," Brittany praised her husband for his heroic deed. "It doesn't even surprise me that it happened. It's something he would instinctively do." After getting rescued, the little boy did not say a word to Clayton and simply walked away with an older sibling of his. When Clayton inquired, a couple of children in the park admitted that they had playfully pushed him into the river. People under Hatt's Facebook post also commended Clayton for his vigilance.

Amanda Leslie remarked, "Meanwhile in the USA, hate propaganda and racism are taking over and nuclear war is brewing. But on OUR side of the border, brave men helping strangers because that's what is right! Proud of this guy. This is the second happy Canadian article I've read today." Vinanso Gray commented, "So sweet. Thank you for saving his life. He didn't care about his suit. He cared about the child's life. Every anniversary he'll remember saving a child's life on their wedding day. He might be wet but he still looks good in his suit." Marj Allison cheered, "Sometimes things happen so quickly and it only takes seconds. Good for you Clayton. That little boy had you as his angel on his shoulder. Congratulations on your wedding and many happy years."
