Being stopped by a stranger with an unusual question can scare or creep people out. When TikTok user Caitlin (@finallyfreewithcaitlin) was walking her dog, an old man stopped his car to ask if she groomed her canine. Immediately after she answered, he pulled out something from his pocket that immediately left the woman stunned but impressed. Sharing the clip on February 24, 2026, Caitlin revealed that the man's unexpected gesture made her heart melt. She also commended him, saying everyone should have a friend with a thriving attitude like his.

Honestly, go Dad 🏆 I didn’t mention that my dog, Nova, is an actual Tasmanian Devil when being groomed but the drive to support his daughters business truly touched my heart Do you have people in your corner cheering you on? If your answer isn’t immediately “Hell yes”… DM me, you deserve to have a whole team rooting for you 👊

Caitlyn was walking her dog, Nova, outside, when an old man in his car pulled over in front of her to stop her. He proceeded to ask a strange question she wasn't expecting: "Do you groom your own dog?" When she replied no, he immediately jumped out of his car and pulled out a business card to hand to her. That's when the confusing atmosphere turned into a light-hearted one. He informed her that the card belonged to his daughter, who had a mobile dog washing company, and he wanted her to check it out. Caitlin, who was so impressed by the dad's adorable way of marketing his daughter's company, wrote, "Honestly, go Dad. I didn't mention that my dog, Nova, is an actual Tasmanian Devil when being groomed, but the drive to support his daughter's business truly touched my heart."

According to a report published in the Anthropological Research and Studies, parents who showcase a high level of support and motivation help in the growth and development of their children. The study also notes that parental support impacts children even as adults. "While children who benefit from parental support develop harmoniously multilaterally, those who are not supported by their parents or whose level of support is low frequently experience negative emotions, an inability to cope with stress, and an increased risk of consuming banned substances," the study noted.

For the woman, it may have seemed like a sweet interaction, but the elderly man was thrilled to advertise his daughter's hard work and share it with others. She noted how every person should have someone so invested to support and cheer the other. To him, coming across Caitlin with her dog was the perfect opportunity to introduce her to his daughter's business. His way of bragging about his daughter's efforts to others without any hesitation shows his immense love for her and the desire for her ventures to turn out to be a success. If this isn't a sweet dad moment, and just parenting done right, then what is!

Her post gained massive traction with many users rallying to support the dad's sweet gesture. @RenownedUnknown wrote, "My son wrote a book when he was 18 (he will tell you it was awful), he self-published, and the only sales he made were to my friends and me. He still comments about how that built his confidence." @tatiana.pickwickshepherd commented, "That's such a dad move, awkwardly wholesome while causing us to be wary lol." @Danielle wrote, "This sounded terrifying at first, I'm so relieved it was a wholesome moment."
