An act of kindness can leave an impact of a lifetime. The Boston Police Department became a prime example of it when they shared a video of two officers showing up at a stranger’s door with some treats. The man had dialed 911 and these officers arrived at the scene to address his request, per WPRI. Instead of medics, first-responders or other equipment, the officers showed up with a cupcake instead. The 25-year-old called 911 with a special request—to have someone wish him on his birthday, reported Local 12. "We didn't believe it at first, we kind of thought it was a joke," one of the cops recalled. "So, once we were able to verify that it was his birthday, we said, 'Well, everyone has one birthday. So, everyone deserves to feel special on that one day'," he added. When all was verified, they drove and showed up at the man’s doorstep and what followed was a heart-melting conversation. The officers first knocked on his door empty-handed as if it were a casual check. “What’s up, pal? How are you?” one of the officers asked. The young man was confused and worried.

Afraid he was in trouble for making the call, he was shocked to find out that things were just the opposite. The officers engaged in a pleasant conversation with the man and asked him whether it was his birthday. After he responded with a “yes sir,” one of the cops presented a cupcake and started lighting the candles arranged on the same. “We tried to light candles for you man, but the wind blew it away,” the officer noted. Requesting to step inside his home, the duo then lit the vibrant candles for the birthday boy. "On our way there, we decided, you know, you can't show up at someone's house empty-handed. My mother raised me right. She would have killed me if I didn't," one of the cops said.

“We’re happy for you man, 25 is a big number,” they said. The man was delighted to cut his little cupcake to the officers singing “Happy Birthday.” After he made a wish and enjoyed the company, the duo departed. “Do you need anything else?” the officers asked. “Nothing. This is more than I could ask for,” he replied, ever so joyfully. “Here is a video of two of our officers responding to a 911 call asking for, ‘Someone to wish him a happy birthday.’ The caller, after the fact, was quoted saying, ‘The officers made my day!’” the caption read.
