Pregnant mom gets overwhelmed after gender reveal cake cutting goes haywire—but the husband’s reaction has moms in awe

A gender reveal can be a really exciting thing for new parents. But at the same time, it might come with its share of disappointments and setbacks. A couple was cutting their gender reveal cake and the wife ended up having to deal with gender disappointment when the reveal took place. However, the way the husband dealt with how his wife was feeling earned him applause from their online community. The woman, Ducci Lou, who goes by @duccilou on TikTok, shared her gender reveal video with the internet.

As the video began, the couple was cutting their gender reveal cake with glasses. The husband told her, "Look at me," as they cut the cake. However, when they had almost reached the bottom of the cake, the glass the husband was holding shattered, sending pieces flying off everywhere. Fortunately, his hand was okay, but the man was quite confused as to why the glass would break even though he hadn't applied that much pressure. Eventually, they cut out a piece of the cake and revealed the color of the icing inside it.

"It's a boy!" the man exclaimed. He looked quite happy with the gender and turned to his wife with a big smile on his face. But the woman didn't share his sentiment at that moment. She was tearing up as she continued to look at the cake. "It's a boy," the man repeated before he hugged her as she had started crying even more. "It's a boy," the woman tried to say with a stable voice, but she couldn't hold herself back. "It's a boy, you get to be a boy mom," someone said from behind the camera and cheered, but it did nothing to console the woman. "It's okay, we are going to have a daughter," the husband said as he hugged her and took her inside so she could have some privacy. "The gender reveal I didn't post because I felt so bad for wanting a girl," the woman wrote in the text overlay of the video.

The video received more than 10.8 million views and over 8,35,000 likes. People in the comments thought that the husband handled the situation really well. @themodlittlemelanin wrote, "You picked an amazing husband, he immediately recognized that you needed a moment and gave you that privacy." @qyiesha commented, "I honestly feel like you handled it well because there are a lot of videos where the moms are literally trashing the entire place."
