Restaurant employee overheard teenage customers’ remark while clearing trash — it left him stunned and choked up
It’s easy to overlook the worth of a job, but disrespect still stings the people doing it. When a restaurant employee was doing one of his routine tasks of putting in a new garbage bag in the bin, he saw a few teenagers walk in. However, what he overheard them saying after they noticed him left him choked up. Sharing the video with his TikTok followers on January 19, 2026, the man who goes by the handle @klutch7.62 revealed his feelings about the insensitive comment.
The TikTok user works at a restaurant. He was replacing the garbage bag in the bin when the teenagers stopped by at the restaurant. He heard them saying, "That's going to be me, if I don't lock in." Upon hearing it, the employee's heart sank. In the video captured by the employee, he can be seen looking disappointed and disheartened following their remark. Although we are unsure if he confronted the teenagers or if they talked to him, he was clearly shaken by what he heard.
Internet users chimed in to share their thoughts on the video, extending him support. @Mario D Adwater mentioned, "There's nothing wrong with their perception at their age, and there's nothing wrong with your reality at your age." @Faith remarked, "You are working an honest job. You're not stealing or out on the street. All I see is a hard-working man! God bless! You are an example and a good product of society!" @Crystal Lynn noted, "You ain't stealing, you ain't begging, you ain't hurting anybody, so you are locked in."
Every job matters when it leaves a positive mark on someone’s life. In another story, a young mother, Sarah Fiacco, was struggling to find a job and landed a position as a food service associate at Prattville Christian Academy, the same school her children attended. Fiacco applied at multiple places, but when nothing seemed to work out, she was offered this position at her children's school. Although she was hesitant to take up the job initially, since it was not her dream work, and felt embarrassed about it, she later realized how meaningful it could be.
She began to enjoy the job, with kids coming to visit her. However, it was one moment that touched her heart. A six-year-old student named Olivia handed her a handwritten note that read, "Thank you! For lunch! From Olivia." The gesture reminded Fiacco why the job mattered, and she hung the note on her bathroom mirror as daily encouragement. Both Klutch and Sarah's stories remind us that every job matters, while what the kids felt about aiming to do better also isn't wrong.
