Defending kids is something every parent does, but confronting their bad behavior requires putting ego aside. A TikTok user who goes by @mr_roadready was called in by his daughter's school principal. When it was alleged that she was bullying other kids, the dad knew exactly what needed to be done. While internet users assumed the dad would discipline his kid himself, he took an unconventional way, which was hailed by all. Sharing the incident with his TikTok followers on Wednesday, March 25, 2026, the father revealed the challenges of parenting a child who is a bully.

Referencing the popular movie "Mean Girls," the principal likened the child's behavior to that of the film's characters. Suspending her, he noted that the little girl had been mean to her classmates and often picked fights with them. The father, who was distraught hearing this, immediately apologized for her behavior. But it did not end there. The father and her grandmother took her to the police station, where the officers spoke to the kid about her bad behavior. The kid clearly looked frightened in the video and seemed apologetic.

Sharing the clip with TikTok users, the father wrote, "Parenting is much more challenging than teaching people to drive!" However, the father emphasized that his intention was not to scare his daughter, but to teach her a lesson she would never forget. He also sought help from internet users on gentle parenting and disciplining unruly kids.

According to Positive Parenting Solutions, it can be heartbreaking to learn that your child is hurting others. But there are ways to address the behavior effectively. As per the report, kids who bully are driven by unmet needs and emotional struggles, including insecurities, which they project onto others. The report focuses on disciplining kids instead of punishing them. The report also encourages parents to withhold judgment and respond calmly.

Soon after the post went viral, many users praised the parent for actively listening to their child's misbehavior and taking accountability. Viewers also hailed the parent's method of teaching the child the right lesson. @Nikki Nicole joked, "The principal knowing all the characters and whole plot of 'Mean Girls' sent me." @Aly noted, "Not only am I impressed with your approach as a parent and your reaction, but also big props to the school for handling bullying seriously and proactively."

@ScienceTeacherBarbie remarked, "As a teacher, if they're saying the word 'bully', it’s really, really bad. We aren't allowed to say that word until a full investigation has been completed about a kid's behavior. Congrats on this, Dad, for handling it appropriately." @dogwood_studio mentioned, "As a former teacher, thank you for working with school."
