School kitchen manager on solo shift dialed Gordon Ramsay for help—wasn't prepared for his surprising response

One might never get things they don't ask for. So when a middle school kitchen manager desperately needed help, she left no stone unturned to get it. The woman, Tina Clarke, was in a fix as two people on her kitchen staff had called in sick. She decided to call Gordon Ramsay for help after listening to him on a BBC Radio Show. However, she hadn't expected the response and the prompt help she got from the chef after the call, reported BBC.

Clarke was listening to Ramsay talk about his BBC TV show, "Future Food Stars," on the Radio 2 "Breakfast Show" and decided to call. The woman explained her situation to the presenter, Vernon Kay and pointed out that she was really short-staffed at Edward Peake Middle School in Biggleswade. She joked that Ramsay should perhaps come to the school and lend her a hand. "I'm cooking here on my own, I work in a school kitchen and my chef has gone off sick and I have another one off with COVID. I just wondered if Gordon would help me today and give me a hand?" Clarke asked. However, she hadn't expected that the chef would promptly agree to help her.

"If I did have the time, I would be in Bedfordshire, I promise you, in a heartbeat, I can send a chef if you wish?" Ramsay responded. Clarke was really surprised at the offer, but agreed to take the chef's help anyway. The TV personality actually sent one of his employees to the school, although the kitchen manager thought that all of it was just a light-hearted joke. She was a little worried that she might get in trouble at school when the chef arrived. "When I got a message saying your chef will be with you in an hour, I thought, 'Oh my God, I'm going to have to fess up to the head and I hope she doesn't give me detention or lines.'" Everyone around Clarke was quite surprised at what she had done.
One of Ramsay's cooks, Rob Roy Cameron, came to the Bedfordshire school and helped the woman make meals for 300 pupils. The head teacher, Miss Linington, allowed the chef to work in the kitchen and everyone was shocked as he was told to make cauliflower cheese for the students. "I'm sure he was terrified by having three menopausal women around him in the kitchen all day. The kids were so excited," Clarke added. The food also tasted "amazing," even though the chef was not allowed to use salt. "We've never had so many visitors in the kitchen." The woman was really grateful to both the chefs as well as her kitchen staff for the entire experience.

People appreciated Ramsay for his gesture in the comments. @AScotchPrincess wrote, "Rather be talking about this than the awards. Well on you for helping the school and this hard-working lady." @CloverTiger22 commented, "Amazing Gordon and the people he employs are such great people, too!"
