She gave her son’s friend with bruised feet Nikes after his parents refused to buy him new shoes — his reason for not wearing them left her furious
Not every child is privileged enough to have parents who can meet all their daily needs or buy the things they genuinely require. Therefore, people often choose to show kindness toward such children by helping however they can. A TikTok user, @katsuranotzura7, shared a similar experience on March 26, 2026, after she gave her son’s friend a pair of shoes upon noticing that his feet were blistered from wearing ill-fitting winter boots in the heat. The boy told her that his parents had not bought him a new pair. However, even after receiving the shoes, the woman noticed that the child kept wearing the same boots. When she later found out the reason behind it, she was left furious.
She noticed the boy's feet were blistered and asked why he was still wearing boots in the summer. The child explained that they were the only shoes he owned. When the boy was unsure of his shoe size, she offered him a pair of Nikes that she had purchased the previous year but had only worn twice. Fortunately, the shoes fit him perfectly, and she told him he could keep them. However, a few days later, she saw the boy once again wearing the same old boots instead of the sneakers she had given him. When she asked what happened to the shoes, the child revealed that his mother had taken them for herself and told him, “Kids don’t need nice shoes.”
She also mentioned that the child had several siblings, and according to her, some of them were treated and cared for far better than the others. The woman then decided to gather all the shoes her children no longer wore and clean them up so she could give them to the boy and his siblings, hoping they would at least have decent shoes to wear.
She also considered reporting the incident, but was informed that since the children had not been physically beaten or subjected to any clear form of abuse, it would not be considered a valid case. She was still left asking herself: “Is this not neglect?” She later shared an update about the incident in another clip. Although the situation had made her so furious that she wanted to “rip her out of her house,” she eventually calmed down and decided to confront the children’s mother in a more composed and thoughtful manner.
She bought bandages, took another pair of shoes with her, and went to the boy’s house. When the mother came outside, the user acted as though the boy had never told her what had happened to the gifted shoes. Instead, she explained that she had noticed it herself after seeing the woman wearing the shoes while the child was still walking around in the same old boots. She then handed the mother the pair of shoes she had brought for her and politely requested that the child be allowed to wear the Nike shoes she had originally gifted him.
The mother even told her that there was no need for her to go to such lengths, but the woman kindly handed over the bandages she had bought for the boy’s blistered feet. She did not want the mother to find out that the boy had told her about the gifted shoes, fearing it might prevent her from staying in touch with the child and continuing to help him.
In a follow-up video, she revealed that she contacted the school and learned they were already aware of the boy's situation. They agreed to contact CPS so the attention would not fall on her. According to their new arrangement, the woman would make sure the child got to wear his brand new shoes, but would keep them in his school locker so his mother could not get her hands on them.
