However, when the letter finally arrived after a week of waiting, Meyer was overwhelmed and surprised by what was inside. The moment was captured in a video and posted on TikTok by Meyer, who goes by @kam_meyer. In the clip, the woman is seen opening the envelope, visibly touched by the thought of a handwritten letter. But as she reads on, her expression changes after realizing what her husband actually sent her. It was his hair, something that Meyer wanted to keep with her. The video has garnered over 1 million views.

In the overlay text, she wrote, “When you think your deployed husband mailed a sweet love letter.” However, to her surprise, it was not just a letter but had something more. Meyer began by explaining, “My husband wrote me a letter over a month ago, on October 30th, and it just came in the mail today, and… shocking. Shocking what it is inside that envelope.” Meyer explained that when she was on a video call with her husband a week ago, he had his hair cut. She wanted to have it. “My beautiful bride, it has been over a week since I have cut my hair off. On FaceTime, you said that you would want to have it,” the letter read, according to Meyer.
The husband further wrote, “I went outside today and found some of it in the same place it was cut. I am 100% sure it is mine. It is a little dusty, however. I miss you, and I hope having a piece of me with you helps. You might want to wash it off, though. I love you, your hairless husband.” As the realization sank in, the woman admitted she was unsure whether the hair belonged to her husband. “I’m not confident that this is his hair. But it might be. Unbelievable. No words,” she said in the video. Meyer summed it up perfectly in the caption, and said, “I will never be able to guess this man’s next move.”
