The woman was stunned by the unexpected message, which reinforced her belief in not dating anymore and staying single for the past five years.

New connections need mutual comfort and respect, but some people fail to recognize that and rush into expectations. A woman named Sasha Polaris recently shared one such moment that changed how she looks at meeting new people. While sitting alone for breakfast, she was approached by a stranger who started a casual chat that lasted barely five minutes before he asked for her Instagram and walked away. What followed later through his message made it clear why she had stepped away from dating. The Instagram video of the incident was shared on Sunday, April 19, 2026, and posted under the handle @sasha.polaris, where it gained attention.

Polaris explained that soon after leaving, the man texted her with an unexpected invite to join him at his villa after the gym for a pool day. She shared the screenshot of the conversation to highlight the odd behavior of the man she barely knew. Polaris responded with a simple “Really?” as she tried to understand his intent. She pointed out that they had not even gone on a proper date, yet the stranger wanted to make physical advances. The direct and sudden suggestion raised doubts for her. Wanting clarity, she asked him if such an approach had ever worked before.

The man replied that it had not worked and added that he had been celibate for three months. Polaris found the response strange and unnecessary, which made the situation feel even more uncomfortable, as the man later made his intentions clear. She ended the exchange soon after, calling the incident “crazy.” This moment reflects how quickly boundaries can be crossed, especially when there is little to no connection built beforehand.

Experiences like these have shaped her views and made her more careful. Repeated interactions like this can slowly reduce trust, making people hesitant to invest in new connections when the first steps already feel rushed or unclear. Polaris also shared that she has been single for the past five years and, because of incidents like these, no longer has much faith in dating.

Modern dating is undoubtedly not easy. In another story, a woman named Kylie Hill spoke about how a connection that started smoothly slowly turned strange after one text message. She had been speaking with a man she met online for nearly two weeks before they decided to meet. Their conversations included regular chats and video calls, and he seemed respectful and easy to talk to. When they met for their first outing at a small sushi restaurant, the evening felt relaxed and comfortable. Hill shared, “He is lovely, we get on very well.”

But things took a weird turn the next day when the man messaged her asking whether she was “comfortable sending feet pics.” Hill was shocked and did not expect such a request after a good date. She had been hoping for another meeting, but the message changed everything. She later wrote, “This is why I don’t date,” showing her frustration. The experience left her confused and made her question how quickly things can change in modern dating situations.
