Modern dating can feel unpredictable, even when things seem to go well at first. A woman named Kylie Hill recently shared how a promising connection turned uncomfortable after an unexpected message. She had matched with someone she described as a normal and easygoing person, and their first meeting left a positive impression. In a video shared on Saturday, April 4, 2026, Hill, who goes by @cordially.kylie on Instagram, explained how everything seemed to be going right until a message the next day asking about one photo completely changed her view.

The man messaged her asking if she was "comfortable sending feet pics," which left Hill completely stunned. She explained that she had been talking to him for about two weeks before meeting, and they had even spent time on video calls getting to know each other. She expressed that the man seemed normal as they connected on Hinge and proceeded to talk. When they finally met, he chose a cozy sushi place, and the date went smoothly. She said, “He is lovely, we get on very well,” and described the time together as relaxed and enjoyable.

Afterward, he even drove around with her, and she recalled they “had so much fun” during the evening. She shared that after the date, she hoped he would message first, as she appreciated that kind of effort from her dates. When his text finally came, she felt excited at first, thinking it would lead to another meeting and a possible new love interest. However, his unexpected question changed the tone completely and left her confused. Moments like this often show how quickly impressions can shift, and many would agree that respect and timing matter a lot in early conversations, especially when people are still building trust and comfort with each other.

Hill said she was clearly taken aback and did not expect the conversation to go in that direction at all. The sudden change made her rethink the connection they had built over time. She added onscreen text, saying, “This is why I don’t date,” reflecting her frustration with the situation. Her story later gained attention online, with many people relating to her experience, and has gathered more than 90K views since being shared.

Sometimes people forget boundaries, leading to uncomfortable or awkward situations. This is exactly what another woman experienced while eating alone at a restaurant. A man approached her and asked, “You’re not ugly if you don’t mind the compliment. Do you date?” She was stunned by the question and quickly explained that she had a boyfriend of five years. At first, it seemed like a harmless interaction, but his next words made her uneasy.

He then asked if there was any way he could make her break up with her boyfriend. Shocked, she declined again and decided to leave the restaurant with her meal. Sharing the story later, she said, “Let me eat my mochi in peace,” highlighting how uncomfortable his persistence made her feel. Some people take rejection respectfully, while others do not, showing how important it is to respect boundaries.
