School memories can stay with people long after graduation, especially when they involve difficult interactions with educators. A comment made in class or repeated embarrassment can leave a lasting impression on a student. TikTok user Steve shared one such story about a substitute professor who, according to him, repeatedly singled him out whenever she was teaching. Sharing under his handle @stevetayii on May 1, 2026, he explained how years of frustration eventually led him to plan an unusual revenge that continued affecting the teacher long after he had left school.

Moral of the story, substitute teachers be careful who you mess with.

According to Steve, the substitute teacher regularly picked on him and made his time in class unpleasant. She would target him whenever she had the opportunity, causing resentment to build over time. The man also revealed that he knew where she lived because her home was close to his grandparents’ house. “I do not let go of grudges,” he shared, adding that he kept this experience in his mind for a long time. After getting his first car in tenth grade, he decided to act. “I drove to her house and planted bamboo all over,” he said. He explained that he placed it in the front yard, along the sides of the property, in the backyard, and in several other areas around the home. 7-8 years later, he had graduated from college, but the plant was still standing strong as ever, as a serious inconvenience to the educator.

Because his grandparents still lived nearby, Steve said he occasionally passed the house and noticed the bamboo had grown even larger. Small decisions can sometimes have long-term consequences. The man also claimed the teacher eventually moved away because she could not fully get rid of the tall plant. According to him, she remained unaware of how it appeared in the first place. It is important to stand up for yourself, even when it means challenging someone in a position of authority. In another incident, a middle schooler received support from her classmates to take revenge on a substitute teacher who blew a minor issue out of proportion.

The professor reportedly asked one student to leave the class. When she asked why, he refused to give a reason and instead called the office, saying that she was causing a disturbance and not cooperating. When a counselor was involved, it was revealed that the teacher was annoyed by the child tapping her foot. Hearing this, the classmates came together to defend the girl. When the lecture resumed, within minutes, around 30 of them started simultaneously tapping their feet. Seeing that they were confidently united against the injustice, the man paused and then said, “I'm sorry." He looked completely defeated. Injustice doesn't stand for long when a person decides to stand up for themselves.
