Teacher opened little girl's backpack — then found two adorable eyes staring back at her: 'Mom must've put it in there'

Kids make the funniest excuses to get out of any situation. But these "excuses" are often so innocent that everyone gets a good laugh out of them. A little girl, Jes, did something similar when she decided to carry something, or rather someone, unusual in her book bag. However, when her teacher asked about it, she said, "My mom must've put him in there." There was a little chaos, loads of laughter and everything was more than okay at the end, per a Facebook post by Brenan Evans Lingerfelt—Donna Martin Hudson that was reshared by Love What Matters.

The little girl had quietly snuck her puppy, Jake, into her book bag and had managed to ride with him on the bus and take him to school. The puppy stayed quiet during the bus journey and through work announcements. But when the teacher, Mrs. Bobbi Nabors, was checking the book bags, she found him. The girl was a student from Jefferson Elementary School and couldn't find it in her heart to part with her puppy that morning. But the moment the teacher opened the bag, she spotted the puppy looking back at her. To save herself from the situation, the little girl told her teacher, "My mom must've put him in there."
The girl's mom eventually came to pick the puppy up from the school after he received loads of love from everyone. Thankfully, the mom wasn't mad at the girl either and couldn't help but smile at what happened. She even promised people at the elementary school that she would bring Jake back to visit them all soon. "He's now the poster boy for our upcoming spring book fair, 'Paws for a Good Book!'" the post concluded. Many people shared their thoughts on the story in the comments and shared similar incidents.
Michelle Walters wrote, "I picked up a little girl for preschool one morning. Halfway there, I asked her if she brought a new toy to school (something was making noise). She said, 'Nope, it's my chickens!' Yep. 5 baby chicks! So we showed them to the teacher, and then I delivered them back home to her mom." Christine Lyles commented, "When my kids were in elementary, they would catch the bus at the end of the street — about 3 houses down. Our little beagle would follow them to the bus, then turn around and come home. One day, I looked out and she jumped on the bus with the kids. I was dying laughing. A minute later, I saw my son, dog tucked under his arm, at the door of the bus — then he just chucked her out and told her to go home. She trotted right on home. I think, just for that one day, she thought she needed to be with them! She was a great dog."
Jessica Paige Cash remarked about her dog, "I may or may not have taken her to my anatomy and physiology lecture and physics lab in college... she was 9 weeks old, I dare you to try to leave her all alone in an apartment when she was the perfect size to slip in my bag. Doxies make us do crazy things." Michelle Scott shared, "I've brought in kittens. And rats (the pet kind). And lizards. And all my teachers took it in good humor and tried to steer me to an animal-related profession. Lol, I'm an insurance agent, but I've got enough creatures to fill a zoo."
